Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?
You are not logged in.
It has been happening since the 27th and it has been quite a struggle to prevent.
From creating bots for prevention to ghosting worlds to avoid detection.
Currently, it is still happening but Brian is well aware of it. I have a log of our conversation that deserves to be publicized.
[6:04:23 AM] atillalonny: hey
[6:04:30 AM] atillalonny: it's been 2 days or so
[6:04:37 AM] atillalonny: what's the progress with fixing the crashing?
[6:16:25 AM] Brian Meidell: we've got a developer on it all day tomorrow
[6:16:36 AM] atillalonny: alright, good to hear
[6:16:53 AM] Brian Meidell: I suspect that will get it fixed or at least patched somehow so it can hold until we can get it fixed properly
[6:16:54 AM] atillalonny: if you need to know I have a list of accounts he used to crash
[6:17:05 AM] Brian Meidell: By all means - send it
[6:17:08 AM] atillalonny: yeah I've been releasing bots to kick the crashers
[6:17:14 AM] atillalonny: alright
[6:17:23 AM] atillalonny: a bunch of them are shared accounts
[6:19:43 AM] atillalonny: however the crasher is using accounts with no username set in order to identify itself as guests
[6:20:17 AM] atillalonny: which shouldn't take much to fix at all, crashing on the other hand is way more difficult, not sure if you want to know exactly how it's done atm but if you do let me know
[6:21:38 AM] Brian Meidell: cool, thanks
[6:22:04 AM] Brian Meidell: Please, if you have any information, send it to me
[6:22:05 AM] Brian Meidell: [email protected]
[6:22:27 AM] Brian Meidell: Thanks for your help
[6:22:41 AM] Brian Meidell: We're going to be picking up EE again soon, starting with an announcement on the blog
[6:22:50 AM] Brian Meidell: I'm hoping to find a way to get the community more involved in the development
[6:23:30 AM] atillalonny: sounds interesting, should I send some information to the developer you mentioned as well?
[6:24:05 AM] Brian Meidell: I'll forward it
[6:24:11 AM] atillalonny: alright then
[6:30:13 AM] Brian Meidell: We're very interested in knowing what you know regarding the crashes.
[6:30:57 AM] atillalonny: they've existed for quite a long time but weren't abused much until recently
[6:31:19 AM] Brian Meidell: Ok
[6:31:46 AM] atillalonny: I can get the UserIDs of the accounts he's using from the lobby
[6:31:54 AM] atillalonny: quite obvious since they don't have usernames set
[6:32:12 AM] atillalonny: I'm aware that Chris removed IP logging from PlayerObjects but
[6:32:34 AM] atillalonny: alongside the PlayerStats implementation I'm sure they're still logged on an account basis
[6:33:49 AM] Brian Meidell: likely
[6:34:01 AM] atillalonny: Fixing every possible crashing method would probably take quite a bit of effort, I'm sure you're aware
[6:34:09 AM] Brian Meidell: What do you do normally?
[6:34:13 AM] atillalonny: IP bans seem like they would suffice temporarily
[6:34:18 AM] Brian Meidell: Yeah, I'm sure it would.
[6:34:30 AM] Brian Meidell: IP bans can be circumvented, but they're a good way to stem the problem briefly.
[6:34:48 AM] atillalonny: possibly
[6:36:56 AM] atillalonny: although along temporary resorts, fixing the guest impersonation would be quite helpful for the future as well
[6:37:16 AM] atillalonny: since anyone can use it and avoid getting banned
[7:02:19 AM] Brian Meidell: Noted.
[7:02:34 AM] Brian Meidell: Send your info in an email, and I'll pass it on to the dev. He'll be working on it tomorrow.
[7:05:22 AM] atillalonny: i've already sent it a few minutes ago.
[7:07:21 AM] Brian Meidell: to [email protected] ?
[7:07:27 AM] atillalonny: Yes.
[7:07:33 AM] Brian Meidell: weird. I haven't receivedi t.
[7:07:43 AM] Brian Meidell: yet, anyway
[7:07:43 AM] atillalonny: lol odd, I'll try resending
[7:07:53 AM] Brian Meidell: i checked spam, not there
[7:08:09 AM] Brian Meidell: found it
[7:08:13 AM] Brian Meidell: no need to resend
[7:08:14 AM] atillalonny: alright
[7:08:17 AM] Brian Meidell: got it 11 mins ago
[7:08:18 AM] Brian Meidell: weird
[7:08:26 AM] Brian Meidell: ah, found the reason
[7:08:31 AM] Brian Meidell: new system I'm using
[7:08:39 AM] atillalonny:
=private snippet=
[8:06:00 AM] Brian Meidell: Thanks for the info
[8:06:02 AM] Brian Meidell: I'll relay it
[8:06:35 AM] atillalonny: alright, thanks for acknowledging this situation
[8:06:43 AM] Brian Meidell: Absolutely. I appreciate the input.
[8:07:08 AM] Brian Meidell: I hope we can get the game back on track and incorporate more of you dev people in pushing it forward
[8:08:24 AM] atillalonny: I hope so. I let everyone know to read the blog.

We’re aware of the guest-bot problem, and we’re working on solving it as soon as we can.
We’re also returning from the dead soon, so check back here once in a while.

Good to know that they still care about the game.

Fair point.

The first day, I had only heard of the crashing, but hadn't experience it.
The second day, all the levels were crashed except those protected.
The third day, crashing was improved to be less harmful, but still happened.
The fourth day, it was fixed.

Is MrShoe the developer that is working on fixing ee? Since he is the one that has published that on the ee forum?
If you would like me to make a bot for you, go here.

MrShoe is the main developer.
Is MrShoe the one that is going to be continuously reviving ee and making the updates. Or will he take a different username since the community obviously didn't like his efforts to keep this game alive.

To my understanding its void... Brian is void?

Brian has no known username, I know whom MrVoid is and it's not Brian.

Isn't it like Brian meidell or something close to that?
That's his real name yes.
Oh I think it does *hint* *hint*
Well, I sent him an email a few days ago about featured worlds, and sent him a short list, that he said he saved to look at more indepth at a later date. He mentioned picking up development, but in a different form. Now his comment to me makes more sense. I'm glad that it appears that they are finally realizing the way in which they they need listen to the community.

I hope he adds new and better concepts and blocks. More blocks = more clear art!

It's nice to read that EE development may continue one of these days. I hope it won't just be additional blocks and smilies, but actual new gameplay features that will allow folks to build and play different kinds of levels. I would consider supporting the game financially if the builders club stuff wasn't so incredibly expensive and wasn't a periodical fee. It would be nice if EE was available via Steam for a decent price. I don't think Valve minds game using Flash (see Machinarium, for example). I think Chris was considering porting the game to HTML5 a couple of years ago; could still happen.
I have permanently left the game and forum.
EE is an entertaining game and I enjoyed playing it...
...but it's time for me to move on.

I sure hope they come up with cool-concepted worlds. Gravity was pretty nice.
