Does the universe ends or keeps going?

It always come to my head and I don't even know if it end or keeps going. What do you guys think? I could tell this to my biology teacher but I don't see her for 2 more weeks. This came up to me when we were learning about the Big Bang theory.

Hmmm... some scientists believe that there are alternate universes, and if this is true, the universe (that we live in, if there are muliple ones) would have to end at some point.

In conclusion, I say it ends, but it's completely and utterly unmeasurable, because of its sheer vastness.

You can't claim the universe will end. The current theories on dark matter show that the universe will keep on expanding at an increasing rate.

Well, there is one theory that the universe is expanding faster until it's so vast, everything is spread thin. Most of the starts will be dead, only the red dwarves will be left, and eventually they will die too. Even the black holes will evaporate. The universe will be void.
An alternate version is the universe will expand so fast, everything will be ripped apart, even to the atomic level.

I'm not saying this WILL happen. This is just a theory.

It's kind of strange to imagine what would happen if the universe and all of space ends, no more life at all. Nothing will be there.
But what will it look like if nothing was there? Will it just be never ending blackness?

My thought before I thought the universe ended some time but no it just keeps on going never ending space out there it is pretty big to think about.

Anyway, you can kinda learn more about this when you learn dimensions. And as Twipply said, spatially or timely?

It bends in a way scientists can't explain.
If you keep going in one direction you end up in the same place you started.

There are several theories on that.

The one you might be most happy with is this: (I'm not saying I think it is correct, I don't want to take any side in this argument, as I have no opinion and choose not to)

Everything will one day be compressed into black holes. (Note that black holes do not move around, this theory is that there will be basically just be a ton of black holes.) Everything except for the black holes will be gone. Now, the black holes consist of only super condensed matter, (Various theories about how small, some say an atom, some say somehow smaller,) and ever so slowly all of it will "fade away." (While it is known that black holes do eventually grow smaller, [very slowly] that does not necessarily mean that it doesn't go anywhere. I believe that it would give off radiation, which is why I don't like this theory.) It is said that this will happen in approximately a googol years.

So yeah, I guess my opinion is that it doesn't end. It is an everlasting cycle, one held up ever so perfectly.

However, I am almost certain life will end one day. Everywhere. That doesn't mean there's not a chance.

Scientists believe that our universe is currently expanding, but getting slower, until the point it stops. But, for now its still in creation.
