Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Gamer1011, it has nothing to do with that at all.

Look at my name, and say that again, please.

Then your computer must have some sort of power-saving thing that activates after 5 minutes. No idea what.

It says 306x300, is the first part height? It looks taller than wider to me.

What did you think the limit was? 10000000000000 pixels?

Why don't image uploading programs work for me on google chrome? They work on IE. Sorry if it's vague...

Stop trying to kidding me. Exactly that is what you got to do.

No idea. Use SRWare Iron (basically the same), or Firefox if you don't want to use IE.

Re: Computer helping service!

Hey Gamer (hope you don't mind me bumping this topic), how do I change the sensitivity of my touchpad?

My hand will just barely touch it while I'm typing and move the cursor somewhere random, messing up whatever I was typing. Starting to get really annoying, it's happened 3 times while I was typing this.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Re: Computer helping service!

Maybe you can help me. :/ My parents don't want to go to a place to get it looked at for money and stuff.

I have a Windows Vista Home Premium 32Bit, Dell, XPS M1330 Series, BIOS Revision A02, Intel laptop. When I try to start it, it gets stuck on the loading bar thing. It just replays it over and over. I cannot get to the Start Windows normally/Run with Safe Mode/etc. screen anymore.

I try running from the CD/DVD Drive at startup, and when I try and re-install the operating system with the disc I have, it loads the files then does the thing with the bar and goes across, then the screen goes black and I have to restart it.

When I run Diagnostics I get error code 2000-0146

If you help me I will give you as many + reps as I have given Echo, right around 40.

Assuming you're on Win7:
Start > Control Panel > (Hardware and Sound) > Mouse

Play around with the "Double Click Speed" under the "Buttons" tab and "Select a pointer speed" under the "Pointer Options".

Depending on the laptop and software that came with it there might be more options, but the above mentioned ones are always there. Unfortunately they don't directly change "sensitivity". Look in all the tabs in the mouse section, and in the Control Panel there might be a separate page for the touchpad too, so look for that.

I'm afraid it sounds like your hard drive is dying / has died, as when you try to access it your laptop stops, or at least a miscommunication between your hard disk and motherboard.

You should look into having it replaced (sorry parents!).

As a last resort you could try this:

As soon as you turn on your laptop, keep hitting F2 to get into the BIOS menu. Because all BIOSes look different I can't say where it will be located, but look for hard drive settings and change AHCI Sata to SATA, or the other way around, and try again. If this doesn't work, change it back and have it fixed.

Even if it does work, it's probably just a temporal fix and you should still look into having it replaced because this is clearly a hardware error.

Re: Computer helping service!

It happened before (it used to be my brother's) and he was able to simply re-install the operating system, but I will try that Sata thing.

Re: Computer helping service!

My computer doesn't have the Dell Touchpad menu (for some reason), so I'm downloading it now. It's not meant for my computer, but whatever.

According to this it has to be something with the hard drive. It isn't really that expensive to replace it, and not hard to. Buy a new hard drive, open your laptop and replace the old one.

Oops, didn't see Nou's post. Thanks for taking over this topic //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Hello, oh great and powerful krazyman. I have some questions here.

Would you mind answering some of them? More in the second post I made, but if you can help with the first post that'd be great.

*HUGEST COUGH IN THE WORLD*

Alright, my computer is a bit old.... maybe 10 years? I don't exactly know. All I know is I don't have the service pack CDs for it. There's the problem.

Now, I wanted to install the 'East Asian' languages onto my computer but apparently I'm missing xjis.nls and c:\i386 (Which, obviously, are necessary for this procedure). I can't find anywhere online that has a legit download of these two things. I don't even know which one I should be downloading. I just remember the c_10001.nls was the first thing I searched for before the xjis and i386.
