MLP isn't the only cartoon I watch, silly. Why is it bad? Just because you can't cope with the fact that something considered "girly" is cool? Seems like you only hate it, because the characters are ponies.

I was afraid to watch the show at all at first because I thought I'd become brainwashed by it. however I finally watched the whole first season, and it has a bunch of ups and downs. I really only like the adventure episodes (the one where they go to appaloosa, and the first two episodes of season 1 are my personal favorites). other than that, it kind of bores me although I did laugh in a few parts. it didn't keep me engaged enough to want to start on the second season.

the show definitely beats a lot of cartoons on telivision today although I still don't really believe it qualifies. just because MLP is a young girl's cartoon doesn't mean it can't have an engaging storyline. :/
I'm still wondering what all the hype is about 1xd1 I can understand that things like MLP can be addicting though, like I was seriously addicted to asdfmovie for a few months (and I still am, kind of. )

what really annoys me though is some of the fans (although I think that's true of all fanbases). they either try to "love and tolerate the **** out of you" or get angry at you for disliking it. :rolleyes:

... does NOT matter, voice acting isn't particularly hard at all. Just another "slap it on the list to make it look big" type of thing.

I would personally disagree actually, it can be hard to voice act. you want to capture the personality of the character and also make it seem believable. I've noticed a lot of voice actors are very dull because they can't keep in touch with the personality of the character they're representing.

You could consider me a brony, but I'm not obsessed with the show like some of my friends are. If an episode comes out, I'll watch it once on my iPod and never again.

I enjoy the show, but I'm not overly-crazy about it.

No. If you remember the very first threads on 4chan, from when the first episode aired you'd probably be surprised by the big amount of speculation and discussion of the show going on. People weren't spamming it, and no one really forced anyone else to watch it. I never felt that anyone from those early threads posted huge analyzing posts about in what the direction the show might take, and that is proof enough for me that this wasn't forced at all.

Surely, the fandom have changed over the year, and yes: fans of the show can be pretty horrible at times. But that does not make this "forced", as a "forced meme" usually implied the same person posting the same thing over and over again in an attempt to make it a meme. Look up the early threads from /tg/ and /co/ in an archive, and you'll most likely find that this is not the case.

Here's a relevant quote from myself, taken from the other MLP threads on this very board!

And unlike what a few people I've met on other forums seem to think, the fandom did not start out as a joke, or that the people on 4chan watched it ironically. /co/ were just positively surprised that the show was actually good, and not just 22 min long commercials for the toys. In reality, MLP:FiM turned into The Hubs greatest success so far.

Many people do believe its a little girls show, well, they are right and wrong, it WAS ment to be for little girls, but males of different age found this cartoon nice because of great artwork and voice acting.
Noone forces you to be a Brony and its certainly not a forced meme, you can love it, you can hate it...
Personally i am Brony and i love MLP, and i don't think its a shame to watch it.
Well if you're ashamed to watch girls show, then its just your loss, i don't see anything wrong with it.

I don't think this thread is intended FOR bronies ONLY. But rather a thread to discuss this internet phenomena, and the people that are a part of it. That's at least how I understood the (a bit lacking/short) OP. People who dislike the show and have negative opinions about it are very welcome to post, but most of the post from the so-called "haters" in this threads just seem to be flaming the show with no real reason to do so at all.
But people should still be able to express their honest opinion on the show, how good or bad the opinion itself may be.

I saw some random episode of it and was like, "Wow not as bad as I thought it would be." At that point I didn't hate it and didn't love it either. Then I saw a horrible commercial for it on some channel where the characters were singing a messed up version of California Girls by Katy Perry with "pony" lyrics, and I basically lost all respect for it. It's called "Equestria Girls" if you want to youtube it or whatever you people do. Older cartoons of it are probably better though so I might give it another shot.
