Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Anyone else watching this show?
If so what do you think of it and how does it compare to the originial avatar series.
imo the show is good but the last airbender was much better because I dont really like the new tech in the series.

Exactly this.

You'll get used to the CGI. The characters are all very memorable right away, just like the original series, the atmosphere is more or less the same (at least, if you'd start from book 3) and it's got the same humour again. I was a bit sceptical at first too, but I'm glad I've started watching it. It's just a shame there aren't more episodes yet Just watch it, if you liked the original series you'll like this too.
(Also, for a moment there I thought you said you liked the movie. I would have to stab you in the eye with the fork if that was the case)

They should really make a remake. But this time accurate. And good. I never even bothered to see the movie, I saw Aang's character and thought: "This...is gonna suck."
I want to say I like the original more, since the new one is practically anime in my book, but... the graphics are sooo much better. I think the original, although it contained a better story, acted as a learning experience. I mean, you can't possibly argue that season 1 of Avatar the Last Airbender beats the current show.
I started watching it a while ago. I like the legend of aang better though.
Episode 5, Brolin (bro character bolin)

I've luckily never seen the movie
Right now tarloc is a way bigger enemy than amon imo.
Seen that theory on tumble somewhere about the evil man in the flashbacks being tarlocs father?

Once I read the first sentence, I was just about to post the link to Tumblr. Then I read the next sentence. There's no way the guy on Tumblr didn't write the show. XD
Perhaps I was a bit more naive when I was watching the original Avatar, but the writing seems to have gone downhill.
"Are you.... a bloodbender?"
Lost my feces.
Other than that, I think it's great. I can't wait for there to be more episodes out.
EDIT:
It's also chock full of sappy, unrealistic situations. Like when Bolin sees Korra kissing Mako. He's freaking sad, and he honestly should've stayed that way for quite a while. But no, it was in the interest of the episode that he all the sudden be okay again, and look! Everyone's friends now!

I agree, the kiss was quite random and it was even weirder that it was alright so fast. It certainly needs to come back otherwise it was a waste of time.
New episode tomorrow!
BTW; has anyone of you read the promise part 2? whatcha tink of it

It's nice but I still can't get over the fact that there are cars!

You have to keep in mind there are also people watching who haven't seen every ep of Avatar, or haven't seen it at all. It was only 1 ep in Avatar where they talked about blood bending (ok and Katara uses it once in another ep). It's a pretty significant thing, so of course they have to explaining. Also, the target demographic is 6-11 year olds, so writing will never be very subtle.

That stuff also happened in Avatar. I'm sure they'll get back to it sometime.

I love both shows but I think legend of Korra is more dark and serious than the first but I can't really compare. I kind of miss the old non techy music of the first though.
When you think about it, Legend of Korra is basically an entire series backed by the Earth season from Last Airbender (You know with all the legal and corruption stuff)
Watching episode 9 now

I was really expecting a fourth chapter from the first season: Air. They could've explained the coming events like Republic City or wiping out the Fire Nation, as well as other cliffhangers they never answered, like Zuko's mother and the Southern Water Tribe being rebuilt by Paku.
The Legend of Korra is, of course, another great work by DiMartino. They haven't lost the overall feel of things, like the adventure and underlying plot. My only complaint is the animation. Something about the speed. When things are calm, moving slowly looks weird and often they just sit there motionless, which isn't very natural.
I have no room to talk, I only watched about three episodes. I should get around to watching all of them, considering they're about to come up with one every Saturday.
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

The only thing I don't understand about Bloodbending is how word got around.
Think about it: There were two people in the world who knew the technique, and only a very small handful who even knew about it. There's the crazy old lady, who was probably killed (They know they can't "lock her away forever." And Katara. You know that Katara would never share it with anyone.
Also, I'm fine with Tarlaac and his father being able to bloodbend without the moon, OR on multiple people. NOT BOTH DAMMIT.

Prior to Pakone's (spelling?) trial, who says anyone knew? People may have just thought "HOLY S*** HE'S CONTROLLING MY BODY WITH HIS MIND!!!!", leaving the gang to put two and two together. After the trial, well... how could they NOT know?
The one thing that I hate about that trial is Katara's absence. Were they really so stupid as to not invite Katara to a trial against an accused bloodbender?

I know! That's the only reason that I was okay with them "eliminating" Tarlaac so suddenly.
I put "eliminating" in quotes because I'm not so sure if anything happened to him. I have a theory...
This show came back on and I re-watched all the original series. Still like first better.

Oh sweet Mary, the movie made me sick

But how did Yakone find out, is what I'm saying?
And yeah, although I do think he was actually eliminated, I'm glad.
Also, they showed a few clips from the next episode. What I made out:
A Giant Equialist Mask on the Statue of Aang. Maybe Amon is a 13 year old with a love for vandalizing things? XD
And, very sucky, Amon set up a stage on AIR TEMPLE ISLAND where he is taking peoples' bending away.
EDIT: Also, really effing hilarious:

My opinion on the series?
I personally think everything is going about too fast.. They already figured out that whatever her name's dad is a villain.. (This was way too obvious for me. I looked at him and went: "I bet he is gonna be a bad guy."
So, I give it a 6/10.. For now anyway
I wish there were more episodes, looks like there will only be about 30 some as compared to the other one which had 64-ish

You do meet some old characters or hear stories about the old characters. I'm sure they'll get to answering some of the question.
