Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

What I mean is you can actually do the same things on your phone and your computer, AND your X-Box. Who cares if they're Linux-based, it doen't really do anything.
I care if it's linux based because,
1.It runs faster 99% of the time
2.It allows more freedom for your devices
3.It is better protected

Here, I'll make it so you don't even need one:

He's not very good at anything, hosting, arguing, animations, making games, ect ect.
Lazy people - Macs
Customizable - PC 10x better than Macs for less the price.
Your so true, i dont understand why its so high price only because it looks fine.. -.-
Mac may not have all this fancy stuff that comes with a PC,but it is better in its own ways.
PC's are prone to a virus, because hackers can target multiple ones at once, since they can be cheaply protected.
A Mac takes time to get into, and they can be very hard to get all at once.
PC's come with Hypercam, which has its goodies and flaws, but the way I see it,it is better than Quicktime player.
Quicktime player is good for screen recording, but not narration of it. It picks up lots of noise.
Eh..I could get more, but I can't think what else right now.

1. Proof?
2. Be specific. Freedom as in...?
3. Yes, your Wii is protected from those...Wii viruses. Yeah.
@Different55: Tell me what you would like to have added and I will, as long as it relates to Personal Computers (Which is the argument here, otherwise Macs would have won a long time ago with all their Apple stuff) and has some semblance of proof or specificness. (Wtf, specificness is actually a word??? I didn't expect that...)
Who cares if they're Linux-based, it doen't really do anything.
Are you saying your kernel does nothing?
Tell me what you would like to have added and I will, as long as it relates to Personal Computers and has some semblance of proof or specificness.
A GNU/Linux section in addition to your Windows and Macintosh sections, on the points that I said earlier. If you'd care to be clear with your refusals this time, I'd be more fit to expand my thoughts.

I'm not gonna read this entire thread. Just want to say: just because you don't NOTICE the viruses on your mac, doesn't mean they're not there. Apple is notorious for ignoring virus threats.
No u.

I will add faster boot times if you can find a good source for it.
I will add that it can run on less hardware.
You'll have to provide reasons/specifics for the other ones, except for the virus and out-of-the-box one, which I explain in the OP.

Personal experience and the majority of /g/ (100% of those who actually use Linux).

I think windows is really crapy cause my windows internet explorer sucks but mac is so much better so much.
@RichTofen: That made so little sense.
Windows =/= IE. IE = Sucks. One bad thing =/= another thing being good.
I changed it to ~Vs. Unix. I'd like to change it to GNU/Linux (That's what's been discussed), but seeing as Linux was stemmed from Unix (For whatever reason sir Torvalds decided he needed to do so), I guess I'll just leave it. Freedom?'s Freedom?.

Lol. I may be new here but heres my opinon anyways.
I go with Windows. Its easier to make bots on it than on Mac. I dont even think that is possible...

0.I didn't post that,djrulz did(pay attention to the poster)
1. You already posted the video for proof
2. More freedom as in the ability to do a lot more stuff
3. It also protects every other Linux-based device.
Macs are better because they don't come with IE.

Why would it be any easier on one or the other?

Actually, Linux was based of Minix, while GNU was based of Unix (as a free version, since Unix restricted Stallmans freedom when he wanted to fix a bug in some program but wasn't allowed to modify it).
This is what Torvals posted in his newsgroup:
Hello everybody out there using minix -
I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I'd like any feedback on things people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the file-system (due to practical reasons) among other things).I've currently ported bash and gcc, and things seem to work. This implies that I'll get something practical within a few months, and I'd like to know what features most people would want. Any suggestions are welcome, but I won't promise I'll implement them :-)
PS. Yes ? it's free of any minix code, and it has a multi-threaded fs. It is NOT portable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that's all I have :-(.
I also seem to remember that Ritchie have referred to Linux as a de-facto Unix, so I guess you're not entirely wrong.
2. Be specific. Freedom as in...?
www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html
A program is free software if the program's users have the four essential freedoms:
The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
The freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions to others (freedom 3). By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changes. Access to the source code is a precondition for this.

And MINIX happens to be Unix-like, along with Linux. They are both functionally Unix; they aren't certified as Unix or take after the code base, but they were designed to operate to meet the Unix standards.

@Tekrion: It certainly is possible, but yes, you would find it easier on a PC.
@Muffin: lol, then again, macs come with safari.
@Watashii:
0: Definitely on all OS's. That's kinda the point of a program.
1: As stated on that site, programs are not required to give access to the source code. Source code access is of course available on PCs.
2: Obviously if it is copyrighted this is highly illegal, and all the same on a PC.
3: Combine 1+2.
Here's the most important part:
This is part of the "philosophy" section. These are not only available on Unix-based OS's. This is the definition for the term "free software" as stated by GNU. Now, GNU does provide copylefting, but this is unnecessary. "Free software" can be found on all OS's. This is simply how GNU wants things to be.

Yes, but only when it has been given.
"Free software" can be found on all OS's. This is simply how GNU wants things to be.
Stallman and his associates want everything to be Free? software.

@^that guy
0: Nope. You can't run some programs to do some tasks. Don't you read the EULAs?
1: I don't see that written anywhere on the site. Links?
2: THIS. IS. GNU.
3: ^
I can run my ancient version of Win 95 on my PSP, too. Add that up for Windows as well as Linux (Note: Linux runs better on my PSP than windows.)
