Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

@LD3H Yes, you can install Flash Player on a Mac.

Another point: Can you install Flash Player on Mac?
Actually you can, you just can't on iOS, (mobiles) which does absolutely suck and I-don't-see-why-Apple-won't, but that is irrelevant.

I... uhh...
Why don't you include GANOO+LOONIX?
Richard Stallman wouldn't be pleased with your preference of proprietary operating systems that do not respect your freedom. You should only use Free? software that respects your Freedoms?.
Personally, I use Windows. I've never used any Mac OS, but I have dabbled in GNU/Linux.
Windows-running PCs (WPC from now on) and Mac PCs (MPC from now on || because not only do they run it, but they're built by Apple) both Just Werk?, but Macs are good for people who want more Just Werk? and less freedom. Windows Just Werks? but you need to do with it what you want.
GNU/Linux almost Just Werks?, but it gives you the most Freedom?. It's like being given metal and having to make your tool to do the job (unless you install one of the easier distros for the ultimate Just Werk? experience). You have to do some Werk?, but in the end you can make a tool for anything.
tl;dr:
I'm adding GANOO+LOONIX to your debate and mandating the usage of "Freedom?", "Free? as in Freedom?", and "Just Werk(s)?" at least once in every post herein.
Srstho, I edited your post to include GANOO+LOONIX?.
Have a nice day.

You'll find this loads funnier if you visit /g/.
I'd recommend you don't though.

Do you mind putting up some legitimate reasons?
Do you mind not screwing with my topic? If I wanted Linux to be there, I would've asked.
If you really want Linux to be up there, provide examples. "Freedom" is not at all specific.
Almost all of the rest of your reasons were in "What I will not give to Macs," and for the same reasons.

What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

They were up there before you removed them.
Why GNU/Linux?es are better:
They respect your Freedom?
Boot times are generally shown to be much faster (both in personal tests (~Jad) and in reports from others)
Generally able to run on much older hardware. Irrelevant if you're using, you know, newer hardware.
Maximum customization (for the Ricer? in you!)
Free? as in Freedom?
Usually Free? as in Free Things?
They come with a suite of useful software and tools out-of-the-box, like Macs.
For the same reason macs are (less prone to viruses), GNU/Linux?es are less prone to viruses. Even more so than Macs.
Easier software installation and updating: sudo apt-get install (software)

However it is referred to as "Linux," just as Windows-Run are referred to as "PCs"

I will address all of your reasons:
1. Specific, please
2. Same thing other way around
3. The word "Generally" disqualifies this. I'll also want a source for this specific reason. If you can find a good one I will actually add it.
4. Be specific
5. Specific
6. Specific...
7. Addressed in "What I will not give to Macs"
8. Addressed in "What I will not give to Macs"
9. Same with both Windows and Mac
Note that "What I will not give to Macs" are not cons, but false pros.

If you say Linux will lose against any other computer, then you obviously haven't tried Linux.
Several reasons why Ubuntu(A Linux OS) is Better than Windows:
1. Ubuntu NEVER gets a virus, unless you're absolutely positively stupid
2. Ubuntu has 3x the battery life because it doesn't run pointless background programs
3. Ubuntu is alot faster
4. Ubuntu is free and open source
5. You can run it on the same computer as you run Windows
6. It has a software center so you don't have to go browsing for sites with what you're looking for.
The only reason I would use Windows is for Steam games.
1. Being smart, you can also avoid viruses on Windows.
2. Proof of this, or just claims?
3. Again, proof?
4. So??
5. You can run Windows on the same computer as you run Ubuntu. SO COOL, GO WINDOWS
6. I don't even know what you mean by "browsing for sites with what you're looking for".

I wouldn't consider this a valid response to the argument, as it seems to be about the possibility of the OS getting a virus. About if it's susceptible to viruses or not. So while it may be true that stupid people run shady software from untrustworthy websites, it isn't relevant. What's relevant here is the fact that the OS in question has major security flaws which makes virus-making an easy job, thus leading to a lot of scary viruses on the internet. Another thing that comes into play here is the fact that Windows is by far the most popular OS for home users. That means that it will attract more hackers creating viruses for it compared to an operating system with a low market share, such as OS X.
So while it is true that *nixes can get viruses, the likelihood of it happening is far lower compared to Windows.

1. You're chances of getting a virus on Ubuntu is GREATLY decreased
2. My battery life was tripled since I started using Ubuntu
3. Try Ubuntu.There's your proof
4. You don't have to pay for it.Windows 7 costs like $100 or something?I can't remember
5. I was pointing out that you didn't have to buy a new computer to us Ubuntu
6. You don't have to go browsing sites for a game, just look in the software center.

1. See "What I will not give to Macs"
2. Probably because you used to have a 3 cell, and now you have a 9 cell. 1xd1
3. Absolutely needs real proof, not just "try it."
4. You can get Windows for free. My version is free.
5. Same with PCs. I believe the OS requirements for Windows 7 are like, 1 GB RAM, 15 GB HDD, and 1 GHz Processor. (Checking Ubuntu's...) And Ubuntu is exactly the same, lol.
6. Same on all versions of Windows. In fact, Windows 8, once it gets popular, will have that to ridiculously extreme extents.

4. If you got it with your computer, the price for it is put in with the computer
5. Ok...
6. Not a single version of Windows that I have seen has a software center of any kind

What? No. You've obviously never done a minimal install of Ubuntu, or any other Linux-distribution for that matter.
Where did you even pull those numbers from?
Take a look at these tables on Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_%2 … quirements
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7 … quirements
As you can see, the requirements for Ubuntu is far, far lower.
I pulled them from ubuntu.com

4. Not true. I've seen Dells for sale right now that are right around 200 dollars. Imagine how much money they would be losing if that was true. EDIT: Correction, 300 dollars. Still.
5. Won.
6. Lol, it's not titled "Software Center." It's literally everything. 1xd1. And in Windows 8, it is the "Store".

I pulled them from ubuntu.com
I went there and found out that you posted the recommended hardware for the most requiring desktop version of Ubuntu and not really the lowest system requirement required to use Ubuntu. So you made a comparison that doesn't work. Please consult the Wikipedia articles I posted earlier, and visit the sources they link to.

I would like it if you could address/comment on the issue with these kinds of arguments. The issue which I posted earlier, regarding it addressing the wrong thing and missing the point entirely.

I'm interested in how this is is comparable to the repository system which GNU/Linux-distribution relies on. Care to enlighten me?

Oh, ok. I actually just searched "Ubuntu System Requirements" and clicked the first thing. Still, I'd be surprised if you're running on a computer with .5 RAM and all the other stuff. Much less be able to do anything on the internet, besides downloading a ginourmous OS.
1. Fine:
User's stupidity if they get a virus. Shouldn't visit so many inappropriate content sites. If a person is hammering a nail in and they hit their thumb, it's their fault, not the hammer's.
6. After going to Ubuntu.com and checking it out, it is what I thought it would be. Exactly like the Mac App Store and the Windows 8 Store. Anyway, there are tons of programs out there that you can't run on Unix. Every program you find on the internet made for PCs (About 99%) are all the things you can get, compared to a measly percentage of Unix Runnable programs.

That's why WINE (Wine Windows Program Loader or Wine Is Not an Emulator) was made.It can run programs that are executable on Windows, including batch files
