Sonic started it's downfall after Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for me. He may look cool, but his games lost major quality.
I vote Mario mainly because I love playing as Luigi.

The Mario series has consistently original and fun titles while the Sonic series has (in my opinion) started going downhill after SA2. SA and SA2 were amazing. Too bad the Sonic games are so gimmicky now.

If all you have to do is run to the right and flip through convoluted rollercoaster-esque obstacles, Sonic's your guy. If you want to stop messing around and get something done in the real world, ditch the freakish blue critter and go with Mario.

Mario's only attacks are jump, punch and fireball... o_o so he sucks.

whats funnier is that if youve seen the bosses in Marios games, compared to sonics games, sonic goes ftw!
