Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Saddest game endings

SPOILERS ON THIS THREAD

So many game related topics lately. Therefore, I must have one.

The saddest game ending I could think of was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue. It is good until the very very end which ruins it. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri= … 29juf2e92c
Here's my question. What is the saddest game ending you've ever encountered?

REALLY. EVERY POST CONTAINS A SPOILER. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Re: Saddest game endings

I don't know about endings but the saddest moment of any game ever is when you had to kill Carlos in Saints Row 2.

Cave Story when you left Curly to die in a hole after she saved your life.

That's why I take the alternate ending and save her life, even if it means having to go through that **** last cave.

Saddest/happiest/most amazing story mode/best ending is E-102's ending on sonic adventure(dx).

One that is kind of cruel to me is Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon. this is a game that has perma-death, so if a person dies, they are dead forever. At the end it has stories of players who survived and what they did after the war. If marth's sister dies it says she disappeared from the history books, like wtfs marth, your sister god damnit, spent the 3/4 the game trying to save your sister and then you just forget her. Sadder part is one unit on your side who is a messenger informing marth that his father died and his last words nearly dies, gets back on his feet and fights for you again, I could never let him die because when he died his quote would be "Tell them.... I... did not run...." and I have too much pride to let him die because if he dies it says he disappears from history books as well :c.

Re: Saddest game endings

The ending of Zelda 4: Link's Awakening I found sad and depressing. Everyone besides you fades out of existance along with all their hopes, dreams and everything! That talk you have on the beach with Marin makes me sad knowing that in the end she'll cease to exist. The end of Animal Crossing is sad because there is no end.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS
Hunting the Vault in Borderlands 1 for a year, finding and opening it many times only to find out that all of that work was wasted for nothing because Handsome Jack tricked you into doing it... So sad.

Added a spoiler tag to the top. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Shadow of Colossus - where he sacrifices his life to save the woman. And then the horse comes in? Omg. The horse?!

;_;

Also The Company of Myself... that could have been more depressing if the game was longer, but since you only play it for about 10 minutes there's no attachment to her.

Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Re: Saddest game endings

This is quite an unknown game, but for me ChoroQ

It was on PS2, and basically a basic yet new at the time concept, driving around several towns, talking (Yes talking as a car) to other cars, and it had events, such as alien car adbuctions.

Back on topic, you first start of as a pretty naff car, but you quickly make a rival, which progresses with you within the game, in most races.
But as soon as you become near to the "World Champion" the rival crashes, and dies.

This was pretty upsetting the first time I played that game, but then again, I was only 12/13/14(?) at the time.
After that, I didn't want to play on that saved file, so I created a new one, but never did that fated race :')

Actually, I think pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky is more tragic then that

Also. Kingdom hearts is probably saddest (no links availible)

I don't I can't think of a very sad one off the top of my head, the witches house is most likely the one I find the most messed up.

Re: Saddest game endings

In the original pokemon R/B in Lavender Town, if you give pokedoll to the ghost(marowak ghost) her soul will rest in peace and you can pass. After it you see 2 gravestones. Once you read any of them it writes something like: "I'm lonely, so very lonely. Won't you join me?" and you get into fight with a half buried man named "Buried Alive". He has 2 strong pokemons and 2 White Hands. Those white hands' sprites are decaying hands of flesh. They are OP so you lose to him and after that happens, you see Buried Alive eats you as a sprite and then it writes game over.

I haven't played it but this is the pretty much rumour. I believe it is sad, miserable and scary.

Re: Saddest game endings

I now think the saddest ending is pokemon blue and red. Somehow you can die, then you end up in pallet town as an old man. Then you go into the tall grass and the marowak ghost sprite attacks but you cant do annything and you die. Its actualy a glitch in pokemon green, not red or blue.
