Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Yay!

The fine details need to be worked out before I will present this to Chris.

Re: EE Elements

A bit confusing, both to put into the game, and to use while creating a room, but very well done nonetheless. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink

Re: EE Elements

A "weight" block would be cool as well. It temporarily collapses if enough people are standing on it.

Re: EE Elements

Keys, when TRIGGERED, cause the doors to do an EFFECT, which would be open/close.

Yes.
A benefit of adding this whole "element" set is a player could make a single key change all of the locks, or have all of the locks on a timer, eliminating the need to have a player put on a track that hits keys . Eliminating that would allow for keys to be put on a long interval and the player only using up 2 or 3 block spaces to do so, where as now they have to have a long, complicated loop.
I hope that made sense :L

I like the idea. Although it might be too confusing for some 10 year olds

wiring was already suggested (by me), but i think that the addition of these will be great.

I read your suggestion for wires and our ideas are slightly different. In concept they are the same: wires link blocks. The difference though is that with the wires I'm suggesting, if you connected a key and a lock with them, nothing would happen.

If you targeted a key with a space trigger and placed an effect that changed the state of blocks alongside it, and then targeted the effect at a lock, then toughing that key would change that lock. No wires involved here.

the problem with that though is the key would also then change the state of all the other doors and gates in the room. We would need a neutral (grey colored?) key that alone doesn't change anything. Or instead of a key use the lever I mentioned in the original post, which is essentially a key that can change it's state.

Again, I hope that's not confusing.

Re: EE Elements

so basically what you are suggesting is just an extension of mine.   either way, it sounds fun.
