Mafia 52 Game Thread (GAME OVER)

Setup information

- 13 player slots
- There will be only 2 factions, the town and the mafia
- Mafia has daytalk.
- Closed setup, meaning most of the roles possible to find in the setup is a strict secret. However this will be an balanced setup with not too many power roles! (Hint: More than 2, less than 13)
- The mafia is confirmed to have an Traitor. The traitor is an member of the mafia that knows their teammates but can not communicate with their faction through other channels. And can not perform the factional kill unless they are the sole member remaining. The other mafia is not informed of this players identity in their role.
- Multi-tasking is in effect for any roles with multiple powers.

- 72 hour day deadline. 24 hour night. Majority vote to eliminate an player ends the day. Deadline ending without an majority vote results in no elimination made.

Let's take a look at statistics, shall we?

To get the most relevant stats, I'll take a look at the last 5 games. In those games, In games 51, 50, and 48, all three games, when roles were being given out, I was given the Game Host role.

This means that I am statistically the most likely to be the Game Host in this game. I can neither confirm nor deny this, but going forward this will be automatically assumed in argument.

I asked to learn on whom simpler reads are more applicable. I cringe a little on the realization that I seem to have implied that I think of myself as good enough to offer "coaching" to people or whatever. I so don't.

Here's a hot take: Pqwerty is lying. This is a simple game with simple roles. Unless he's going to go on and say he's a Jester or an Executioner/Lyncher, pretty much the only two simple anti-town neutral roles, then he's someone we should consider getting rid of today.

We have to worry about a town traitor, and we don't have many options ourselves mechanically. It seems far more likely to me that he is some sort of Arsonist or a Serial Killer, and I'm leaning Serial Killer.

Also, his reads kinda seem forced or reaching. My posts are fillery, sure, but I generally joke a lot on Day 1. Even did it in champs, though tbf I was a Mafia then. But, my posts aren't even the most fillery here. For example, Allen made one post that basically said "Ill look at this game when school is over yall". Lumi hasn't said much, but also they are very much not new to the game, they played in champs with me. Some players have only been making joke posts.

I don't yet feel comfortable giving a townlean on Ghandi because I have never played with them before. And I'm slightly inclined to believe Grilyon is innocent because I'm fairly sure he has never played before and has no clue what's going on

I've seen Lumi pull off great things in the champs game we played together. I'm not sure if they've just been incredibly busy lately, or if the silence is indicative of trying to lay low.

I didn't think I had to actually come out and say this but I was mostly sus of Pqwerty because I thought he was bating us as a Serial Killer. I'm not sus on him anymore at all, besides the base level sus I have for everyone.

So here's the thing. The way I play is basically the way I play Among Us. I will look first for people who are good. Generally in amogus I can follow someone and if they don't kill anyone, generally they are safe. I don't have anything mechanically like that here but I still default to this playstyle as I am now.

Do my reads seem wonky? Well, probably not considering it doesn't look like I have any reads. Who do I even sus? Truthfully, not sure at this point. I've been focusing my energy more on who I think is good.

I've had the opportunity to sort of look over Allen's latest games on discord. When he is sus, he is a lot less open about his thoughts than when he is good. In this game, he made a readslist on a bunch of people but explained that he's busy. Maybe some of the reads were confusing, but they seem genuine, so I think Allen is safe.

Grilyon looks like he has no idea what's going on and I think his genuine looking confusion is enough for a derpclear from me.

Knowing what I know about Lumi, it wouldn't shock me that theyd aim to town lead at the last 12 hours of the day, so that's a bit of town points from me, but I've never played a game where they were sus so I'll keep it slight.

The rest of my energy has been spent trying to get some sort of a read on the players not native to this community.

I don't sus Pqwerty right now, it is true. Claiming anti-town in a game of only Town and Mafia is a pro town move so my thoughts on him have reversed since in my mind it's no longer possible for him to be an SK.

If we must PoE someone, I'd rather it be Elijah than Allen, Grilyon, or myself.

I don't mind being in the PoE because it generates discussion. Of course I don't want to die, but in my death brings a lot of discussion tomorrow for those that have jumped onto my wagon.

But even if there was a potential SK this game, let me explain my line if thinking.

With a traitor, there's at least two Mafia in this game. Add in a hypothetical Serial Killer for this scenario.

The faction and the 3p represent two kills made every night.

Eliminating a Mafia member on day 1 does not reduce that number of kills made tonight.

Eliminating a lone serial killer on day 1 reduces that number of kills made each night down to 1 kill.

Therefore, aiming for a Serial Killer and hitting correctly produces a more desirable result for town.

I don't imagine I have to explain why that is

But there's no 3p role, so none of this matters
