If mutantdevle is Oppressor, it would probably be a bad idea to keep him around because that means not only can he manipulate votes, but the extra night is extra time for Mafia to kill somebody (if they're able). Remember that Novice or Jail could have prevented Mafia from killing on Night 1. Or maybe they avoided killing anybody to try and confuse people.

Althea, what if we lynched you and Jailed mutantdevle? Do you have also have a convenient role we need to know about?
If we did that we could learn whether you're telling the truth without the risk of mutantdevle either dying as the flagbearer oppressing us. It would however, mean that nobody else could be Jailed tonight, Norwee dies, and Evil people get another night to talk and perform night actions. That's a lot to ask, and it may be hard to convince people to vote for this.

Whoops, I forgot the Flagbearer lose condition only applies to lynching. Liberating a claimed Coroner would still be something to watch out for though, just not as huge of a risk as lynching a claimed Flagbearer.

As skeptical as I am about mutantdevle, unless we get further evidence from a Cop or Inspector, I'm not comfortable with the risk of lynching a Flagbearer.

As much as lynching Mutant is a gamble in the case they are telling the truth and they are flagbearer, not lynching him is also a gamble; we don't get any info and we rely on the possibility of having a vigilante role kill them tonight, which we're not sure even exists. If none of the 4 die tonight (and as Era said, mafia would have no motivation to do that), then we're basically losing two days, because mafia will pick 3 candidates to lynch.
Remember that we can Jail mutantdevle, preventing him from performing an action on Night 2 (or Night 3, considering Oppressor can only act on even-numbered nights).
The mafia isn't our only threat. There is guaranteed at least 1 third party that poses a genuine threat to us. Any days spent not resolving this situation (aka, just tomorrow) can be spent looking for the pestilence.
But more nights also gives more time for the Plaguebearer to Infect people, right?

I considered giving some convoluted explanations for why Era's Serial Killer claim is wrong, but I know that won't convince anybody. Instead I can just hope you people keep me around longer, and focus your efforts to bigger threats to the town than a possible Serial Killer. I can elaborate more on this later.

The question then would be, why would you have any reason to cooperate with the town?
This would also get rid of any other evil roles effictively.
But in the end with your identity known the town would probably just throw you under the bus at some point.
Because you'd just lynch me if townies got killed at night, unless we get evidence that I'm innocent. If I am the Serial Killer, I'd have no choice but to survive as long as I can, which would mean not getting lynched as long as I can.
Aside from public vote, which would be nearly impossible to hijack, the Serial Killer's current threats would be the Jester and Neutral Evil roles.
Every night you spend lynching a possible Serial Killer, you give another night for the Plaguebearer to Infect or the Arsonist to Douse. If I am a Serial Killer, I'm effectively weakened to the point where I have no choice but to follow the will of the town, with the most consistent attacking ability in the game.

During Night 2 I originally had a list of people with unconfirmed roles based on their position on the mutantdevle lynching, but for whatever reason I closed it without saving. So I guess we aren't getting that unless I go back and check.
Also, the Gambler claim seems weird, considering we know there's another Gambler/Forecaster who has reporting (because public announcements), and isn't a Novice (because of the guess N1).
Doesn't seem that weird to me. Both Town and Mafia probably have their own guessers, like they both have Sentinels and Flagbearers.

Fair, but it seems unlikely that there's a Forecaster unless either: Mafia has no Goon, or there are 4 mafia. Which means that the public one is most likely a Gambler, and since their modifiers are different to yours, you would be claiming another Gambler.
Well, people did toss around the idea of Mafia having no Goons. We might have an Arsonist, explaining why we had a kill Night 2 but not Night 1. (Night 1 to Douse, and Night 2 to Ignite.)
