Mafia 48 - Birthday Party Game Thread [MAFIA VICTORY]

Welcome to Mafia 48 - Birthday Party! For those of you who don't know, today is my birthday (June 2), which is why I invited all of you here! We're having a party and a sleepover! I hope you all enjoy yourselves!

Here are the rules:

▼Game Rules

- One in-game day will last 72 hours. One in-game night will last 24 hours. Both may be ended early.
- Votes that are not made using the Bold or Header tags will not be counted. Self-votes are allowed.
- Do not game-throw, and no pushing and shoving in the bouncy castle!
- Follow the rules of the forums and please be nice. I didn't invite you all here to fight; I invited you all here to have fun!
- Red will be the color I will be using to make posts as the game moderator. Do not use this color or otherwise attempt to impersonate me. It's my birthday!
- Players may be prodded after 48 consecutive hours of inactivity by using the !prod <username> command. Players that are prodded for inactivity and don't become active within the next 48 hours will either be replaced or killed (if there are no replacements). Please don't fall asleep during the festivities!
- Do not discuss this game outside of this thread. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Okay, it's my house but you get the point.
- A lynch will not occur when a majority has been reached. A lynch can only occur when the day ends. Players can vote to end the day early by using the !endday command. When a day ends, all lynch votes will be counted, and whatever was voted for the most will be executed. If you do not vote, your vote will not be counted as a NoLynch. Players can vote to not lynch anyone during the day by using the !nolynch command. I love democracy.
- These rules totally weren't plagiarized from Norwegianboy's Werewolf game and anyone who says they are will promptly be licked.
- Talking is allowed during twilight. Players nominated for lynch may talk until the moderator has announced their death. Once you are dead, you are not allowed to talk in the thread until the moderator has ended the game. However you are allowed a single short post if it is unrelated to the game.
- Users not participating are not allowed to post in the game topic. If I didn't invite you, then you're not invited.
- Do not take screenshots or quote anything from your role pm. Do not post your Role Card ID. I made them as party favors for you all!

Here are the roles:

Vanilla Townie - Vanilla Townies have no special abilities. By default, they are aligned with the Town.
Nurse - Once per night, Nurses may choose one player; that player will not be killed tonight if they are targetted for a night kill. Nurses can select themselves, but they cannot choose the same player two nights in a row. By default, they are aligned with the Town.
Cop - Once per night, Cops may choose one player; the cop will learn whether or not the selected player is considered Dangerous. By default, they are aligned with the Town.
Vigilante - Once per game, during the night, Vigilantes may choose one player; that player will die. By default, they are aligned with the Town, but are considered Dangerous until they use their ability.
Mafia Goon - Mafia Goons have no special abilities. Once per night, they can choose to perform a kill on behalf of the Mafia faction by choosing one player; that player will die. By default, they are aligned with the Mafia and are considered Dangerous.
Milk Man - Once per game, during the night, Milk Men may choose one player; that player's faction changes to the Mafia Faction, and they keep their abilities. It must be Night 2 or later for the Milk Man to use this effect. Once per night, they can choose to perform a kill on behalf of the Mafia faction by choosing one player; that player will die. Milk Men can only use one of these effects per night. By default, they are aligned with the Mafia and are considered Dangerous.
Serial Killer - Once per night, Serial Killers may choose one player; that player will die. Serial Killers cannot be killed during the night by any member of the Mafia, and cannot be converted into a Mafia member by the Milk Man, but they can be killed by the Vigilante. By default, they are aligned with themselves, and are considered Dangerous.
There will only be one of each role, except Vanilla Townie. Therefore, there is only one Nurse, one Cop, one Vigilante, one Mafia Goon, one Milk Man, one Serial Killer, and 7 Vanilla Townies. The town wins when all the Mafia die. The Mafia wins if it holds a majority.

Here are some rulings regarding the game if anyone is confused:

• If a Vanilla Town is converted into a Mafia member, they are converted into a Mafia Goon.
• If a Cop is converted into a Mafia member, they are converted into a Mafia Cop. They may still use their nightly ability to detect whether a player is dangerous or not, but they cannot use any other effect during the night.
• If a Nurse is converted into a Mafia member, they are converted into a Mafia Nurse. They may still use their nightly ability to defend a player during the night, but they cannot use any other effect during the night.
• If a Vigilante is converted into a Mafia member, they are converted into a Mafia Vigilante. They may still use their once per game ability to kill a player, but they cannot use any other effect during the night. This use of the Vigilante's ability does not count as the Mafia Faction's nightly kill, but the Mafia Vigilante will still be considered dangerous after it has used this ability.
• If a Milk Man targets the Serial Killer with their ability to convert a player to a Mafia Member, the effect will fail, and the Milk Man will not be able to use this ability again.
• Any player who has been converted to a Mafia member will not flip their new faction after dying; they will still flip the role card given to them at the beginning of the game.
• Ending the day with !endday requires a majority vote by the players. Ending the day this way will result in the person with the highest number of votes being lynched.
• Tying votes will result in me flipping a coin to decide which action occurs, so I highly recommend you do not attempt to do this.

And finally, here are a list of commands that you can perform during the game:

!vote <username> - This command can be used to vote for someone you want to lynch.
!nolynch - This command can be used to vote to skip lynching any players for the day.
!prod <username> - This command can be used to prod a player who has not been active in the thread in the past 48 successive hours.
!endday - This command can be used to vote to end the day early.
!votecount - This command can be used to request a full count of votes from the game moderator.
!confirm - This command can be used to confirm that you are active within the game in response to the role PM or a prod.
You can only use these commands in this thread! I will not accept any of these commands if they are made in a PM!

For the record, this game does not have "Lylo". Days do not end when a majority is reached. Days end after 72 hours or after a majority of people use the !endday command (which can be used in addition to a vote.)

As long as town loses if they lynch wrong that day, it's the definition of what we call LYLO.

The Milk Man has two abilities of which they may only choose one. The Mafia Goon only has one. Provided both survive to Night 2, the Mafia Goon may kill a target and the Milk Man may convert a target within the same night.

does the night result specify whether a person was killed by mafia or sk or vigi?

follow up question if multiple DANGEROUS people target the same victim, does it specify all factions involved or is there a specific precedence of kills

Everyone targeted for a night action, regardless of what action it is, will have that action happen to them. The only exceptions are an SK targeted by a Mafia Member and any other role targeted for a kill but saved by the nurse. So, if Vigilante kills Mafia Goon, Mafia Goon kills Nurse, Nurse protects Cop, and SK targets cop, the Mafia Goon and Nurse die, while the Cop is saved.

These lynching rules are pretty weird. From what i gathered, getting a majority to vote a player doesn't actually lynch them until the time limit runs out?

In this game, if we end it at 40 with 72 hour days. The flip would come at 72 hours, regardless of when the majority is reached. So the amount of Day + Twilight will always be 72 hours.

The day ends when the time runs out, OR when a majority of players opt to end it manually with !endday.

The flip will not always come at exactly 72 hours; it will come when I'm online and realize someone died. You don't get an 'extended twilight'. I apologize for any confusion I might have given you with the rules.

To Crybaby, their wildest dreams had come true. People actually bothered to show up for their birthday, and they were having a blast! Many activities befell the party-goers on the first day. They took turns with a piñata, played Pin the Tail on the Rat, and more. Before it came time to eating cake, however, Crybaby needed a smoke.

Taking just a few minutes to smoke before calling everyone in for cake was relaxing, but perhaps a grave mistake. While Crybaby was away, the party-goers suddenly got into an argument after somebody was pushed in the bouncy castle.

"I swear I didn't do it guys, I wouldn't push any of you! I'm innocent!" pleads Andymakeer to the rest of the group, "Why are you blaming me?"

Despite Andymakeer's best attempts he just could not convince the town that he was innocent, so the town elected, behind Crybaby's back, to send Andymakeer home.

"You don't belong here!" screams NorwegianboyEE.

"Yeha, gt eout, we don l'tliek pushong!" agrees Peace.

"Go home!" says ShadowsEdge.

"Nobody gets away with pushing around my friends!" yells Pqwerty.

"Oh yeah!", enters the Kool-Aid man.

"Fine!", In an uproar, Andymakeer caves in, "I'm leaving! I thought you were all my friends, but if this is how you want to treat me, then so be it!" Seething in rage, Andymakeer pulls out the party favor Crybaby made for him, throwing it on the ground before he left.

After everyone had cake, Crybaby finally noticed that Andymakeer was gone. Looking around the entire house, they find the party favor that Andymakeer threw on the ground, and guessed that they didn't want to be at their party anymore. Worried and anxious, Crybaby attempted a smile so as to not worry the other party-goers, though feeling abandoned just like during every other birthday party.

Andymaker is now dead. The sleepover phase now begins. All roles with a nightly ability may now send me their night actions. The night will last up to 24 hours.

When the party-goers woke up the next day, they had a lot of things planned. They would watch some movies, go swimming in the pool, and have some more good food, amongst other things. Unfortunately, it looked like two of the party-goers didn't wish to stick around. Noticing this, of course Crybaby became even more anxious than before, but the party must go on with or without them.

The cleanup party that day found that the tail pin used to play Pin the Tail on the Rat and the Broomstick used to hit the piñata from yesterday have gone missing. Nobody seems sure where they went, but upon searching, two party favors were found at different places around the house: one in the restroom and the other in the garage. It is unknown what this might mean.

If Milk man is theoretically vigged at the same night as he tries to convert someone. Will the convert succeed or fail?

I made an earlier post to TaskManager that gives a precedent to work off of. Any player targeted for a night action will have that action happen to them, with only two exceptions. Nurses have priority over any kill, and Serial Killers have protection over any Mafia action. Thus, if a Vigilante targets the Milk Man, and the Milk Man targets anyone else, the Milk Man will die and the person the Milk Man targeted will become a Mafia member.
