Welcome to Mafia 31!

Rules:

1. Respect everyone, it's just a game, don't be a jerk.
2. Do not gamethrow. Play your role to win even if it seems dire, you never know what might happen.
3. Only discuss the game in this thread, or threads I assign to you.
4. Dead men tell no tales. Please use the graveyard thread if you have been eliminated.
5. Make all night actions via PM to me.
6. Don't use the mod text color please.
7. Try to post at least once every 24 hours.
8. Days will last 72 hours, nights will last 24 hours.
9. If you break the rules I will be rather ornery.

The setup:

You thought that nothing in your little village could go wrong. Sure, there were a few unsavoury people around, but what town doesn't? Things were going fine. Until one morning, you left your house, and were perplexed to discover that there was two of everything! Looking to the left of your house, you saw your house, or at least what looked like your house! As everyone emerged from their houses, it was surprising to find that there was also double the number of people! But you couldn't recognise anyone, not the seven from your town, not the seven from the ersatz town that arrived overnight, and certainly not the mysterious drifter that seemed to be from both universes and neither at the same time...

Lynching rules:
Each day the highest lynch target from each universe with the most votes are eliminated.
If there is a tie in one of the universes at the end of the day, the result will be a nolynch scenario for that universe.
All votes can be added/removed until the deadline.

You are the Mafia Universe Cop. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].
Every night, you may discover which universe a player is in.
Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Mafia Backup Alpha/Omega:

You are the Mafia Backup. You are in universe [?]. Your teammate is [?]. You may communicate at any time in this Private Chat: [?].
In the case that your teammate dies, you will gain their ability.
Each night, as a team you may kill another player in the game, however, this will only succeed if that player is in your universe.
You will win when all of the members of the town in your universe are dead.

Town Universe Cop Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Universe Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which universe a player is in.
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Faction Cop Alpha/Omega::

You are the Town Faction Cop. You are in universe [?].
Every night, you may discover which faction a player is in. [Town/Mafia]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Mason Alpha/Omega:

You are the Town Mason. You are in universe [?].
You have the ability to communicate through secret channels with the Town Mason in the other universe here: [?]
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Town Vanilla Alpha/Omega:

You are a Town Vanilla. You are in universe [?].
While you don't have any special abilities, you have the power of your voice and your vote. And the second best flavour of icecream!
You will win when all of the members of the mafia in your universe are dead.

Drifter:

You are the Drifter. You do not belong to either universe, but float between them.
Every night you will choose a universe to belong to temporarily. For all purposes of votes, mafia kills, and cop checks, you will be affected by your choice. You're an affable person and will always appear to be "Town" when checked by a cop. You cannot be lynched Day 1.
You will win if you survive to the end of the game.

Game End:
When a universe concludes its game (either by all town or all mafia dying), those players will be removed, and the remaining players will continue until their game concludes.

so, two things
1. Vanilla is the best classic flavor of ice cream
2. what good is finding someone's universe? if I'm gathering it right, people can vote to lynch for anyone from either universe, so it isnt like you have to make sure to vote for the people in your own universe

Anyways, given that the highest voted from both universes gets lynched, then that means the Mafia can figure out someone's universe if there's a tie t in votes but one of them dies anyway. That sounds kind of lame.
So I would say don't try to make ties in votes, but at the same time, that could also potentially save someone... but then again, the Mafia could do that?

So I guess, what I'm saying is, if you try to make ties in the votes, then that's a pretty scummy thing to do. Idk, I dont know what else to say at the moment

I read through the posts since I was gone, and, I'll just be Frank. I'm trying really hard to give you the benefit of the doubt, Anatoly. You ask people to give you a chance, to believe that you are a townie, but your actions are really treading the lines of my trust. It started off with fishing for Task's universe (not a townie thing to do), insisting that he has to be scum and that the detective roles should devote their resources into frisking him as the dnight comes (another really scummy thing to do), and the straw that broke the camel's back is what I quoted at the start of this post. It's better for the drifter to reveal themselves never. It is never a good idea to reveal your universe. It is never a good idea to try to expose someone else's universe. By doing that, you're very likely putting a) someone else in danger, and b) yourself in danger, as well as c) a lot of scrutiny on yourself. You've suggested before that the town might bus you, and you are drawing a lot of unnecessary attention to yourself by making all of these scum-sounding statements and just, in general, making yourself a target for other people, even without realizing it. If you aren't Mafia, then you're giving them someone they can easily keep alive and use as their puppet, in a way. Realize that your words have consequences, and if you really are a town member, reconsider your strategy, because we shouldn't be giving the Mafia any advantages, even by policy lynching you and peace.

That being said, Peace, I haven't read a single post by you. Spell check your posts, or you will likely continue to not be taken seriously. It is nothing personal, but if the information that you are giving isn't provided in a legible, organized manner, then your posts are very easy for anyone to misconstrue. The townie may think that you might be saying something that you arent, whereas the Mafia could potentially capitalize off of any mistakes you make. All of this is to say that work on improving the quality of your posts first and foremost. Big posts can be a good source of information depending on the content and who writes them, but at this point, even if your posts were tiny 1-2 sentence posts, as long as they're clear and concise, then they're a lot more valuable to us than anything else you're writing.

Anatoly, stop assuming that the world is against you. Get your head in the game. This is your chance to prove to everyone that you are competent and that we should more seriously consider you in Mafia games, but you have to focus on the objective, without making yourself look like a fool

You (Mutantdevle and ZeldaXD) are both right, but keep in mind that Anatoly has teammates, and if they think it beneficial to exploit Anatoly's lack of experience with the game, then they can and will use him as a puppet. He could very well be pretending to be incompetent while "reading a script" if he is Mafia. Even if he isn't, the Mafia could potentially try to make him seem suspicious by keeping him alive regardless of the supposed Universe reveal

I realize it looks kinda bad now but the only reason I voted for Andy is because he pushed for a tie. This was right after he evened his votes with Anatoly, also I made it very clear that I would become suspicious of anyone who tried to push for a tie.

This is also a fair point. If you want to suspect me because of it, that's okay, but I only did it because I wanted to be open about my intentions. I have been making very town-looking moves in past games even as a Mafia member, so I dont expect any of you to believe that I'm town because of that. That wasn't really my intention. I've been less active, so I know that if I just make a move and don't explain it then or at least a little later, it's pretty scummy.

Your only reason for voting Peace yesterday was because he's annoying. You didn't unvote for him before yesterday ended, giving the Mafia more information to work with. Today, Peace counterclaims Kira, someone you thought was a Mafia member for the longest time (and didn't vote for). Now, suddenly you trust Kira a lot more than Peace now that Peace has counterclaimed, all for... what? Peace not being smart enough to make that good of a play?

When I called you on not unvoting Peace yesterday, you gave me a weak response, and basically told me not to worry about it. Today, when people ask you to unvote for peace, suddenly you have no idea why it would be beneficial to unvote for a less popular candidate, and have to have it explained to you once again. Only this time, it's the same exact person that we already have information on. Do you know so little about who you're voting for that you're just that hellbent on killing Peace? Seems so much like something you would do out of policy if you ask me.

If Kira flips alpha best-flavor-of-ice-cream town, we're lynching Peace tomorrow without the shadow of a doubt. Unless you're a cop and you have some irrefutable proof that Peace is indeed Mafia, you're doing nobody any favors (not even Kira) by being so aggressive against a singular person, and in fact, are making yourself look way less credible.
