Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

They make people reliant on the validation of peers, and thier validation, and reduce the ability to judge for yourself the world around you, which i feel is a socalist mental-reprogramming tactic.
Really, I love you all and I never want to see any of you hurt. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Please.

I've never sought the validation of others in the community, nor have I ever wooted posts I didn't genuinely like, regardless of author.

(Idk whether this is serious, so I'm going to assume it is)
Woots are a great way of showing you agree with someone or like their idea / creation without needing to actually comment. Without them you would have to post something to agree, which is both more effort, and spammy
Also, If woots weren't a thing and you had to reply to say something is good, people would still be looking for validation, it would just be as posts instead of names under the post... If you wanted to prevent people from seeking validation we should remove posts altogether, only allowing the topic owner to post in their topic to prevent any feedback

I agree to an extent; I sometimes have a look at how many woots I’ve got for a certain post, and I’m more likely to support a post with lots of woots, or read all of it if it’s long.
But woots/likes/upvotes etc. allow you to show support very quickly and easily, without having to spam “I agree” or “I like this”, and afaik there’s no alternative that won’t create the same validation issues.
The forums - nay, the world - would be a blander place without validation. It’s not necessarily harmful, and it’s what we do anyway irl, just verbally or in writing.
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

Ooh what have I done right now!
I've just wooted a removing woots topic!
Don't think that the idea would be good. However that woot was just a joke

I don't think anyone relies on woots for validation but if you do then I am... concerned
Anyway woots were a way to replace reputation (if I'm not mistaken) and although I miss reputation, woots are cool and I use them ironically mostly; I don't use them to give people "validation" unless I just really agree with their post

Please no
Remember that woots would go away over time? That was annoying af.
Unless you're just suggesting that likes be called woots. That would be fine

It seems that woots are generally used to mean one of the following:
"I agree with this"
"This is high-quality"
"This is funny"
"This is so bad it's good"
This means that low-effort joke posts are put on the same level as high-effort posts. As a result, people mix their serious concerns with their wit, which I theorize is why have such a presence of highly wooted sarcastic ding-dong gotcha posts on this otherwise semi-pleasant forum.
I propose we have different woot categories for different post types. We can't stop people from wooting posts ironically (except by tracking down their locations and brainwashing them—an extent which we haven't quite reached yet), so this leaves us with "agreed", "high-effort", and "funny" for our woot categories. But would this increased complexity be worth it?

once again i state that you take this forum way too seriously. half the stuff you complain about is a non-issue if you just take this as a chill forum

I'm sorry. I really need to focus on the things that truly matter.
