1. Update Releases

Lets say that NVD came back to work after NOU left here. (2017-03-12). Basically 121 Days. These were all updates he created in these 121 Days:

• [2017-03-17] 5 Days after Nou left. Some small changes/ Bug Fixes. Not much to say. Yes lets take the fact he only had only 5 days!

• [2017-05-20] Gravity Effect got added.

121 Days, 2 Updates. However the community is bored of the game. There haven't been new campaigns or anything the community needs: Blocks releases. Only one effect, some more graphics, and commands everyone else could create (I guess ??). 120 Days / 2 Updates = 60 DPU (Days per Update)

Lets calculate the DPU when NOU was here. Unity and Nou's ownership was announced 2015-11-11. 608 days before today. And many updates happened, too: 2015-12-23, 2016-01-17, 2016-02-16, 2016-02-17, 2016-03-31, 2016-04-01, 2016-02-10, 2016-04-17, 2016-06-17, 2016-08-03, 2016-10-03, 2016-10-11, 2016-09-30, 2016-11-26, 2016-12-28, 2016-12-24, 2016-11-03, 2017-01-29.

Lets calculate again:

NVD: 121 Days / 2 Updates = 60,5
NOU: 608 Days / 18 Updates = 33,(7).

With Nou's Ownership, the game has been updated 2 times more frequently.

2. Suggestions

Ever saw Nou approving suggestions? Yes. Graphics? Yes. Example of them are the Aviator and Sleepy by SmittyW (Creator of Aviator (?))

But anyway, i can't remember graphics being approved by NVD. There are 31 Pages on the Graphical Suggestion board. There are 133 Pages in the Game Suggestions Board. Previously stickied, a masterthread containing many things, good things, forever resting in peace . Community helps you running the game by adding things, but you ignore it, what!?

3. Activity.

It's NVD, I have him on his friend list, you can see below.

A developer is only good if he is often active, so he can answer questions, help people. Don't tell me "It's the job of moderators". It's your job to watch for moderator and be one at the same time (Remember Jawapa issue?) If you are always away, how can you host the game then? "Hi, I will leave for some years, hope game will be running." We can't see when he was last online. But here is his last post: 2017-06-01 09:52:04. 41 Days back. Not sure where you are @Nvd, but you should return next days. You got Amnesia? Have you forgotten about the game?

4. Are you ill?

# In this topic Mysterion posted something about you being ill. I feel sorry for you, but you have to understand, you're 16/17 and your go to school. If your in a hospital bed, or go to school daily. I think you need to concentrate more on important things in life. What will give you Everybody Edits if you fail exams in school? Nobody wants anyone to die (except people who say "rasict"/"nazi"). If it hurts you that I asked about this things, then sorry, if it hurts you to lose the game. Sorry. But if you really love something, let it go. Let EE go on its steps. You don't have to be permament owner of EE, but if you really want to keep EE running do what there is to do - Give the ownership to someone who finished exams, who really has time for the game! Please!

I don't want anyone to laugh with the prase "Nvd is dead", "Nvd is going to die" or whatever. Think you are NVD. You made mistakes in life, and everyone wants you to die. How would you feel? So please, stop!

I like that we hated nou for his inactivity but now people compare him to nvd and make him look good in front of the nvd

You don't get anything great for free, especially in game development, and anything you do happen to get won't last very long, at all.

The only way to progress forward in any meaningful way, is through actual investment, funding beyond the current primary source of income (the game itself) which is dwindling.
The current revenue that Everybody Edits makes isn't nearly enough to hire a primary developer, since they'd be making a wage equivalent of the average McDonalds employee.

There's already plans set for an acquisition which was mentioned, and the comparison to NVD to Nou is a fairly moronic one, let alone a fairly low bar to set in the first place.
You don't judge the amount of topics they make, you judge the quality of the content they produce, it's not very hard to write a topic saying 'Unity's getting somewhere!' 12 times.

What good will it do exactly?

We are in an endless cycle: Recruit a new owner / It doesn't work / Replace / Repeat.

What Everybody Edits needs is fresh air, and no unqualified staff who are completely unmotivated to make new changes, new updates. I can't blame them, really. EE has been going into a wall for a long time now and players aren't surprised It's not working out: they are used to it.

There is no transparency and It's obviously killing the game.

Jesse, you became an admin in hoping to save the game, you told me these words: "I will never let EE die". Are you realizing you're killing it right now? It's no surprise Toop left.
Showpath, you helped Jesse pulling off the gravity effect update. You thought it would please the players. You see, It's like throwing a bone at a dog, it pleases him until he gets bored of it.
NVD, It's been 2 years now that you've been an admin and Gosha spent more time doing clients than you did working for the game. Don't tell us you care for the game, everyone knows by now that you're lying.

What EE needs is not an update.
It needs a change.

Rebooting will not help.

Here's my solution:
- Give the game to Processor and all of you leave the staff team. It's apparent you're not qualified.
- Rework the shop
- Remake campaigns
- Give better tools to players to work with
- Make a community chat in the main lobby
- Recruit an actual graphic designer
- Make EE open source (Unity)
- Remake the lobby to something understandable
- Make an actual tutorial that will warp new players in a level explaining everything there is to know in Everybodyedits
- Steam

If you truly care about EE, you will take action. If not, then this game should be exterminated. No point on torturing us further than that.

That's all I have to say

Processor left during Nou's tenure, I doubt he'd want to deal with Everybody Edits any more. He doesn't have any way to invest in it anyhow, so there's no way to have any paid developers beyond himself.

Extremely vague with no detail. Great solutions!
Maybe what they should do is GOOD THINGS! YES! LET'S DO GOOD THINGS TO MAKE THINGS GOOD! UPDATES, THAT'LL DO IT!

You do realise Everybody Edits is a glorified IRC chat room nowadays? There won't be any worlds open if you do that.
Not to mention that it'd be even more tedious to moderate, given the nature of having 100+ people compared to 30.

Wow, how immediately obvious. Must have taken a long time to conceive of.
Of course, you'd also want it for free, so it's a hot potato charity art program. Lovely.

- Make EE open source (Unity)

That's a nice way to get no funding at all and a million Everybody Edits clones, nice and divided into oblivion.
You think it'd help having more **** programmers producing commits? You know, Everybody Edits has already done that, hired all the talent the community could muster and it's still ****. Odd, huh? Makes it seem as though charity doesn't produce quality?

There's far too much to reasonably explain to beginners, explaining every single mechanic to the point of pointless precision to newcomers is exactly what you'd need to avoid doing.

Perhaps sucking staff's **** is a better solution, right? You've been doing that for 5 years, no reason to change good old habits.

What are you even talking about? I've criticized the staff more than anyone else - there's no **** kissing from me.
On the other hand, you're practically begging for your position back, and nagging the staff constantly about it. How's that for **** kissing?

As far as I know processor had the same problem

If you make server-side code open source - it will be very easy to find exploits in the code

Having EE on steam wouldnt be a bad idea... It basically just does all of the installer / updater stuff for you, which means it would be much easier to run the (actual, not webGL) Unity version of EE without needing to download a new one every few weeks.
The only downside would be the $100 fee, but I think thats a one time thing, so wouldnt be too bad

Remember, its not just major updates that require downloading a new client though, its any small bugfix, which there are fairly often (well, I dont think they technically need it to be downloaded, but there can be problems if you dont)

I just want to play this game and I don't know why this drama is needed. We first need someone that replaces NVD, and not someone from the old staff. Because they already have a reason why they left.

If you want it to die, just leave... I dont see why everyone seems to want to convince everyone else to kill it, when if you just stop playing, then you wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

I'm all for keeping it alive though, as long as it doesnt lose money I dont see a reason to stop it. Its not like its actually doing harm, just less good than it used to.

I agree that new ownership COULD be helpful. But, it's not guaranteed to be. As stated before by Atilla, hiring a developer is unlikely. Due to that, the new owner would have to be somebody within the community. And, if that owner is to be more active than NVD and Nou, their life situation has to be convenient enough. In addition, this new owner would have to be willing to put forth the time and effort to work on this game. Stack that on top of whatever qualifications you need in order to own this thing, and I'm not entirely certain there's anybody that could handle it.

[EDIT]: By "qualifications" I mean having a basic understanding of how to manage/code a game in order to surpass the current owner, not just to become a new owner.
