Hello, everyone.
I'm suggesting for non-playable characters — NPCs for short.
NPCs are action blocks that act like signs do — they show the player text. NPCs look like smileys, but with a different look, to differentiate NPCs from real players e.g. grayscale, less saturation
NPCs would be most helpful in story levels, since making people taller than players having their messages written in signs is somewhat weird.

I've always wanted background smileys that could talk, rather than blocks with signs next to them. I like the sound of grayscale, so how about a solid black border to mirror a player's white border?
(Imagine a player is standing on both at the same time idk quantum supersmileyposition or some EE nerd stuff)
With EE NPC, you can make kool pictures!
And you don't even need real friends to play with when you have EE NPC!

A smiley-shaped sign would be nice. The face block doesn't quite do it for me.

These two ideas are good.
The first one can be used as an alternative to NPCs, but the faces doesn't seem to fit. That's where the second idea comes. However, in my own opinion, having NPCs can save space, which is more efficient, and can be more expressive.
