I've Seen All Good People by Yes
While almost anyone's heard Yes' more popular (and sadly memed, yet absolutely brilliant) song, Roundabout, I've yet to be disappointed by their music.

Battle of Evermore by Led Zeppelin
A less popular song by another popular band... I've always liked LZ's acoustic and somewhat 'delicate' music more than their heavy stuff.

Great, I just lost the game. It's a very nice song, good lyrics and melodic progression. Also, these guys are OLD now. And making an album in 2014? Wow. They still have the groove after 40+ years. Some parts weren't of my taste, such as the technique I like to call "voice hold", which I am not sure if it has a technical definition. The "voice hold" is simply when you sing a particular lyric, and just hold it for a couple of seconds. Yeah, not really my cup of tea.

Blue Oyster Cult - Astronomy

Extraordinarily well polished song. As I've mentioned before, I very much enjoy songs that are based off of a poem, for it gives room for analysis and discussion. By that I mean, you can assume multiple meanings of the lyrics. In this case, most of it are nicknames for constellations, but some may take them literally. The bass in the background is top-notch, as well as the short solos in between lyrics. Well received by me.

First off, sorry for missing the link. Second of all, I'm quite confused why you would link me to the middle of the song. I started from the beginning, and it was pretty much the same all the way. I enjoyed it as well, great strums. Actually quite confused why this band / song is unknown, it's a masterpiece. Although it's a bit too "pop-ish" for me, especially the end, where he vocalizes sounds. Didn't like that. Otherwise, it's very good, and I'm glad you somehow found it.

Brassroots - Karma Police (Radiohead Cover)

Very good cover. I listened to Karma Police before, it's a good song by itself. This cover of it is also pretty swell, albeit the start didn't sound like it much. But once the main brass came in, it was instantly recognizable. Creative as well, doing brass band covers of popular rock songs.

Yes - I've Seen All Good People

WOW! Amazing song! I especially loved the chess references throughout, and the chord progression near the end of the first section (with the organs and chess lyrics). This was actually two songs merged into one, but i'll let that slide. I seem to let many things slide. Besides that, this song was great throughout, I enjoyed it very much. The transition between both "sub-songs" was flawless, even with the short period of silence. And it was flawless, for both songs shared lyrics, which was "I've seen all good people" (evident from the actual title).

Led Zeppelin - Battle of Evermore

Genre: Folk / Celtic Folk

It was quite uncalled for, to have such a "folky" song created by a hard rock band. In fact, they wouldn't be so bad of a band if all they did was folk. Maybe in some alternate universe Led Zeppelin is famous for "Stairway to Heaven", a fantastic and mystical mountain-man folk song about windmills and lumberjacks. I liked the song, and I actually agree with you, that some of their more "creative" songs are better. I strongly support this for it really shows you how the band isn't simply generic and focuses on a single musical style, but they cherry pick many melodies and techniques from other genres and influence it onto their own.

Per Kiilstofte - Queen of the Night

Apparently many people have heard this song before in games. I have never, most likely due to the fact I don't play many shooter / RPG games. Other than that, it's a pretty good song. Kiilstofte did a great job with sound design; everything sounds so clear and brisk, especially for 2009.

Tycho - Hours

Tycho is a great artist. Found him through "Walk", which I'm sure is the origin of many Tycho fans. The song is ridiculously relaxing, and I have to say, the sounds are almost otherworldly. They sound natural, yet you know it's probably been processed heavily to give it that specific sound. And another point is, I was always stunned by ambient musicians, for the melody isn't really...specific. It seems like a jumble, but all the notes are placed exactly where they should be, hinting that they were placed for a reason. And that's the part I cannot seem to grasp; how do they make the melodies so random, yet they come off listenable?

Genre: Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) / Electronic

This is stunning. You're absolutely right on the fact I like strange music, especially experimental. This fits perfectly, although it is technically IDM. However, "Stylistically, IDM tended to rely upon individualistic experimentation rather than adhering to musical characteristics associated with specific genres of dance music." (Wikipedia) So it is justified; IDM is also a type of experimental electronic. The beats are **** weird, and I like that. It's one of my most favorite parts of the song, the fact that it's weird, that it's strange, that it doesn't use generic-brand electronic samples like most mainstream electronic "musicians". Great find.

Overall Score: 10/10

Note: I noticed you switch genres to find what I like most, and then you recommend songs by those genres. I appreciate it!

I agree. Though it's probably just me being oversensitive to my surroundings, I'm not a big fan of any music that overwhelms my ears, like intense electronic music. Also I'm a bit pickier about my music overall

I had no idea "I've Seen All Good People" was two songs. Either way, if you enjoyed those Yes songs, I HIGHLY recommend you listen to Close to the Edge if you haven't already. Very beautiful piece of music... I can never get enough of prog rock, so if you know a few lesser known songs of this genre please let me know. 2112 and Cygnus X-1/Hemispheres are all time favourites for me.

The intro was vaguely familiar to Simma Hem, I assume it's the special style all bands have. Tempo changes were on-par, improved the movement of the song in general. Music video was some pretentious film major ****, but I didn't find it that annoying. Enjoyable song.

Alright, now I'm very confused. First it was furry breakcore, now it's Italian folk. It was a pretty alright song besides the terrible quality. The musician looks like a ninja turtle. I'm grading him on how well he plays, which seems to be quite professionally. What is that, 3 different woodwinds being played simultaneously? Or is it all considered a single instrument?

haha hey look it's your profile picture haha The song sounds like the theme song for an 80's superhero cookie-cutter cartoon with a clear protagonist with an abusive past, and an evil villain with a lair on the moon, and it only ever airs in the morning on channel 22, and then 10 years later there would be reddit posts saying DAE remember kid dynamo!!!???? fave show!!! Good song, but not really that listenable. It's creative, but, eh, it's sounds like a comedic song, kind of like Ween - **** up a Rope. It's a VERY good song, but I can't bother listening to it again. It can't be taken seriously.

I've listened to "This Must be the Place" before, liked it. This is very well done as well, I find it creative to incorporate natural beats and rhythms to further the topic at hand, which discussed what happened after nature took control. I'm not sure if the lyrics mentioned what really happened, but I assume it to be some sort of global catastrophe which led flora and wildlife to flourish in what was left behind. Good song.

Led Zeppelin - Rain Song

I respect the fact that even being known for a rock band, Led Zeppelin constantly attempts new genres and styles of music, as evident by this song. It's much more mellow than the others, it's easy-going, one might not even recognize it as a LZ song. The switch near the 5 minute mark was beautifully done, almost flawless.

I think breakcore is the correct genre name for that song I linked. Renard is quite a popular artist of that genre, and while I don't really care how he furrifies everything, I really enjoy his music!
The instrument on the second song is launeddas, a sardinian instrument. It's basically 3 reed pipes but you play them all at the same time. One reason why Luigi looks like a turtle is that to play these you need to use circular breathing, which is basically inhaling and exhaling at the same time.
