Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

That was on Hostinger, with very light PHP work. I'd not touch Hostinger unless you plan on getting a paid plan or not using server-side scripting.

That doesn't sound light.

Probably not, but never had any issues with the same code elsewhere
Looking through it, preg_replace and levenshtein could be very inefficient but wouldn't have thought so with small strings.

Paying Hostinger isn't also a good idea. I used to be on a premium plan and had hosted a website with a lot of visitors. Hostinger then routes my site to a captcha (which doesn't even work). I approached their customer service (requesting to remove the captcha) and their programmers didn't manage to resolve it.

I use hostinger for everything but Node sites and never had any issues - even intensive PHP is fine, I think Calyfornia had some infinite loops going on.

Cloudflare does that, haven't had Hostinger do it for me - color.koya.io has a minimum of 200 people on the page at once and Hostinger haven't done anything to badly affect that.
Their support team is quick to reply to me and help out whenever possible, they have standard web host issues but out of the 31 help requests I have sent 28 were sorted within 24 hours, 2 within 72 hours and there was one where there was actually an issue with the docs - out of those 31 requests about 18 were down to my fault, about 10 being inquiries on how Hostinger does things and 1 where it was their fault but it wasn't a huge deal (the sql subdomain I was given was not correct, I was given a general subdomain (sql) rather than a specific (sql##) - the specific should have been shown to me).

Possibly Hostinger in different areas has diversified quality of service.

I wouldn't say no to that, like how Amazon.com is not completely the same as Amazon.co.uk - Hostinger.com may not be the same as Hostinger.co.uk; I should then note that I use Hostinger.co.uk with zero issues.

On the topic of response times, look at these blazingly inaccurate timings.
But I suppose, for free, I can't really complain. One of the better free services though

Kek, lightning fast requests and responses.
Premium undoubtedly gets a higher priority with reports - and why wouldn't they be.

Hostinger isn't good, as with the majority of free shared hosting.
They are the same owners as 000webhost, which is notoriously unprofessional and insecure.

I've heard that their customer service isn't too good. I've used them in the past, I liked the user interface a lot.
freeho.st is much better FYI.
freeho.st closed recently.
There's afreecloud.com, which is free VestaCP.
Other CPs might be in the free plan soon. Oh, and their premium hosting is $3 a year... (with 3 cp's to choose from, cPanel, Interworx, and Vesta)
Which is way cheaper than most.
Also, it's managed by the co-founder of Secure Dragon LLC, Joe Dougherty. Who was a freewebhostingtalk admin, until 2010 when he started Secure Dragon.
Should be reliable for small sites or etc.

I use HostMantis. No problems at all. It was jesse that said it was a good hosting company.
