Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Making money of a world.

Hi there guys.
Today I joined this world (surbot). The first signs you see when you join is that they have set up a shop.
The thing is that when I visted their 'shop' site,it seems like they are trying to make money of it. Is this allowed?

KACPER05 claims that a bot is running the world (which I do not believe at all). I can sum up a list of things that makes me convince that there is no bot at all (at least not one that does anything).

(Checked their site a bit more, it seems like some people already have bought stuff.)

Hmm. I'd look at the rules.

Then I'd remember that whether or not they say it's against the rules doesn't mean they have to let (whoever you're talking about) do (whatever they're doing)

Then I'd remind you that a fool and his money are soon parted.

This is against the rules. Anyways they will never make any sales because they haven't even started what ever they are doing. It would be legal if it was something like gem codes. (they are still gone)

Re: Making money of a world.

Looking at the T&C and rules it is not stated, Floddy's Digbot had potions you could buy and there were never issues raised (each potion was worth only cents however) - it's not clear what the bot does (I couldn't see the arena \_(•-•)_/ ) and what the items get people.

It is not against the rules ATM.

Its illegal to take money away from the game. They stated that when the jawapa thing was happening. This thing will die out quick since it is unorganized and laggy.

This shop is not taking money away from the game, it is running alongside - I assume the staff will sort out a retrospective amendment to the T&C to outline what is and isn't ok (buying things : no - donating : yes)

1.  EE should get a part of the money.
2. EE should stop this if its a scam

why?its a standalone shop thats not connected to ee in any way.
valve takes a portion of market sales on steam because its the STEAM market, its theirs.
on opskins.com you can buy skins for csgo that can also be bought on the market, but they dont take a portion of the money there.
so unless they decide to make a "ee market" they shouldn't generate any income from that

that bot is running under ee platform, if that bot makes any kind of profit from that it should fund ee too.

thats like saying smoothie shops should give money from their sales to the company that made the blenders which the shop uses

One difference in your analogy is that a smoothie shop presumably has paid for the use of the blender. Be it leased or bought outright, it's still accounted for.

Paypal, which facilitates the money transfer between many providers (credit cards, e.g.) charges their own percentage of transactions.

I'm not advocating the legitimacy of their transactions, but I do like to discuss this

*edit: swapped "removes" for "charges"

edit2: part of this discussion considers what we're basing our arguments by.

Ultimately, if this shop requires the use of EE to function, then EE can charge any (even unreasonable) sum for it. At the same time, these people running the shop have no obligation to pay the requested fees.

It all comes down to "if there's a rule you broke, you can be banned"
