Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

imgur.com/mqOKtFY See how the coin destroys the water around it? I think you should be able to place blocks/actions OVER the water. Like this, imgur.com/k1IrZX7 (Sorry for my Photoshopping skills)
but you get my idea, right?

Great idea. We need more mario related stuff in this game.

Your photoshopped imagem isn't too bad.
Anyway, I got your idea. You said the actions blocks destroy the water bock. And it's not only water blocks, but all liquids, yes. I agree with you, this should be "fixed".
Decorations and anothers blocks destroy all liquids too, it's because the water need to "fill around the block". But, what if you do a minigame with a coin you need to get, and you can't get up to the block (imagine a trophy), because you need to collect a coin to pass a door in another place, and what if you're not allowed to get the trophy yet? The coin will be a "trap"? Does someone understand me?

Would be extremely useful for realistic seaweed.

But then we also need to be able to place gravity on water (water's gravity is always downwards). We would need a few more layers for it to be perfect.
thx for sig bobithan

Yeah just add another layer in between foreground and backgrounds (and call it... middleground?) for liquids and climbable.

Would be cool too if it would work with half blocks

Wasn't there an issue before about moving blocks to different layers, adding a new layer will just cause more problems - it's not awful how it is, it's EE
Thank you eleizibeth ^

Whats so wrong about adding another layer? EE is already barely 2D anymore anyway...
Despite what people say, Different55 is the best mod.

Something to do with breaking worlds.

I don't see how it would break worlds. Explain.

Well, we can't another layer because that would take up too much space in the database. What I could do is that the texture changes when it's surrounded by 4 blocks of water (But that is obviously a really dumb way)

Not as exciting as adding a whole layer, but it would work for the suggestion.

It doesn't work completely though because the physics would still be the same. But yeah that would still be a good solution in terms of aesthetics.

or you know if you place a coin over water it turns to a water surrounded coin

I have a specific mini which used the slight increase of speed to allow people to complete a mini, adding water automatically would annoy me in that one instance which I could add a boost - but I don't want to use a boost in my world.

oops I didn't see this post
It doesn't exactly break worlds, but it would change the way worlds are stored, which means they would have to make sure each world has their blocks replaced with the correct equivalent on the new layer. This would use some sort of tool to do it automatically, which has the risk of going wrong meaning it would break a couple of worlds.
