Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Alright, recently, someone started a petition to the White House to start construction for a Death Star by the year 2016.
Link to the Death Star Petition
Your help is needed. Please sign this petition; if we can secure the required number of signatures by this Friday, December 14, then Congress will hold a meeting discussing this topic. Also, don't forget to remind your friends and family to sign, also.
If you are hesitant about signing this because you need a whitehouse.gov account, look at all of the people who already made an account and signed, and then reconsider.
Together, we can do it.
You gonna to blow up Earth or something?

I have privileged knowledge that Santorum 2016 would be in favor of this, I'm not sure it's a good idea.
Is this in space, does America have the money to build it or ownership of space?
This is how serious people take their own government, while it bombs civilians over seas it's citizens are joking about building death stars. Fair enough if it had some anti-political meaning behind it, but it doesn't.
Treejoe, I suppose you have a problem with political cartoons as well?

They can have a message, what does this show?
They both poke fun at the government. This one doesn't have a message that came with it, but that's not the point I'm making. Lots of people don't take their own government seriously, and that's not limited to any country. It can't be helped: some people give 0 expletives.

I think the point behind this is just for fun, and anyone signing it for some political message would be better of doing something else.
Yes, it's just for fun. There's no point to it. It's just for the lulz. I don't think there's anyone signing it srsly. I'm not saying that this is serious, or that there's a political message behind it.

Yeah, if this does pass there won't be any problem. Congress or Obama or whoever will just laugh that it actually made it so far and then disregard it. The fact that us Americans are allowed to do that in the first place is a good thing, I think.

This petition can only be for fun, or to send a message, because the Outer Space Treaty disallows the United States, and many other countries, from situating any weapons of mass destruction in outer space.
Hilarious, signed it

Well, AL3XTH3M3NTALON3, if this petition is so successful that it passes the required number of signatures (25,000), then it has a lot bigger chance of going to congress than one would think. And if you check the website right now, you will see that i has over 28,000 signatures. So,
