Kind of helpful....

Say if someone posted a word like antidisestablishmentarianism and you want to know the definition for that word, just go to Google and type in the search box define: then the word you want so you don't have to look it up on the online dictionary.

Example: define: word

Some people have probably already heard of this, but I hope it helps!

A lot of words already come up with the definition box with out saying "define". you can also put "definition" or what ever in there with the word you are searching..... I'm pretty sure many people are aware.

Im not but with every topic anyone ever posts, there is bound to be a discussion.

So it's not 'up' to a discussion it just became a discussion.
The normal person would just go 'thanks this was helpful' not start off any argument :/

Because YOU started off this argument, questioning if this is a helpful topic or not. You are selfish because you didn't take into consideration that I helped someone when you said this topic is complete rubbish. All your points are invalid. I put this topic in off-topic for a reason so people can benefit from what I told them not complain like a 4 year old.

I normally just type "meaning of [word]" instead, but it may help some people who don't know about it. Also, GadgetGeek, if you don't like this topic, just ignore it.

I said this was a pile of pointless turd (Not in those words, mind you - but similarly). That's not asking for an argument, that's just a fact. Besides, you can't start an argument without the second side to deter whether it actually is an argument. If anything, you started this.

Even so, off-topic debates against spam threads. This is one of them. It wasn't made for a full on commentry by other people. I would have accepted this thread if the topic at hand was actually useful for people. (And no, a useless Google command that doesn't even need to be put into the search box to have a definition appear isn't useful.)

Ok @Fdoou & Gadgetgeek:

Basically the ONLY reason I wanted to make this topic was to help people, which the forum is kinda about. I didn't know if many people knew this so I made a topic about it to find out. Purely out of curiosity and wanting to help people. Now I knew I was going to get negative comments but you both have escalated this into an argument over what? A little thing someone could do over the internet? To save them time looking through the dictionary. Now you both could of said 'it comes up with the definition anyways' and I would've excepted that and perhaps closed it.

But you both have started this argument by posting things not related to the topic. You both especially GadgetGeek take my posts apart and try and find something to moan about. I see Fdoou has +repped saying to be on your side, this isn't supposed to be a debate it supposed to be a informative topic.
