Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Moving ee to steam?

5:29 PM eastern
11/10/2015

Now to get to the subject, i know the EE team said they were possibly going to move EE to steam but i disagree with putting EE up on steam.
my main reason is that even with unity installed lag will still possibly be an issue because of the many people logging on at once, possibly trolling or spamming, which would clog up a world and force people to leave.
another issue is that with the amount of players right now, featured worlds have an average of 12-20 people on them at once, multiply that by 3 and there you have the estimated average of people on a single world when the game is released to steam.
i know this issue doesn't seem too threatening at first but, the player reports will keep on increasing, making the staff's job harder to do and more bans.

this thread will probably become irrelevant because the steam release will generate more money for the staff, and who wants to give that up?

Re: Moving ee to steam?

The lag is an issue with the flash release today. Everybody Edits used to hover around 2k players pretty much all the time with there always being several worlds at 45 players each. EE has simply grown too big for flash to handle, moving to Unity would fix that and allow worlds to support 40+ players again.

EE did perfectly fine when it was 10x more popular than it was today, so it really shouldn't be an issue, even for the staff. Besides, I don't think the game will really get that much more publicity from being released on steam.

this is most likely true

however, if it isn't the problems will increase and an excess amount of worlds will be made along with inactive accounts
i have no idea if there is a limit for how long your account will be inactive before it is deleted

So we will add more moderators.

Oh, its that easy? Why won't you publish some games on steam to make some money then? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Steam community is HUGE. Just sayin'

We already have over a million inactive accounts... They aren't causing any problems though.

No, no limits exist.

We mainly want more players to make the game more interesting. Players are the people who generate the content everyone will play, and the more players we have, the longer people will play this game, so overall, adding the game to steam will benefit the players in the first place.

i didn't say it was easy

other large steam games, but they also have many more installments and mods so that could be it.

are there any inactive accounts holding usernames that others want to have?

Well the username Koya is taken and hasn't been used since the day it was created.

Re: Moving ee to steam?

you don`t need to survey anyone

you just need to delete acc`s that have been inactive for atleast a year
