To provide some context...

User "thesource85" is a moderator in-game; became a guardian on 7 June.

He registered on this forum on 7 June, and last posted on 18 June.
He posted almost exclusively in just two threads ("Helloo New guardian" and "The EE staff, their roles, their vision.").

Nvd mentions his own real last name in his forum profile, among other places, and so does thesource85 in his forum profile.
They have the same last name. People guessed, is it Nvd's brother ("I'm not his brother") or nephew.

Either way, various people were bothered/puzzled by thesource85's sudden staff position (example, example, example).
Pingohits summarized on 15 June: "a week into modding and thesource is already getting raped by haters"

As I wrote above, on 18 June thesource85 last posted here, and 18 July he was last in-game.

Speculating as to what happened.
He's busy outside of EE ("Do I have lots of free time? No not really").
He had to defend himself from the beginning and in my opinion wasn't always tactful doing that.
He never really played EE much, wasn't really part of this community.
Which means he has no bond/ties with either the community or the game, and thus no reason to stay.
He tried moderating for a while, but got bored/disinterested.
