Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Now, we have a bunch of really bothersome updates. I was thinking that maybe we could put together list of general "guidelines" to send to Mr. Shoe, Mr. Void, and Chris, showing them what the community wants here. While it will end up as mostly older members helping with this(if this idea isn't horrible), we have a better understanding of how EE works and how much better it was before recent updates. We have a better understanding of what would bring it downhill.
So, like just about every one of my ideas ever, if something isn't too great about how this works, tell me, and just like every one of my ideas ever, I'm sure there is. Nothing is written in stone. Anyway, what I'm thinking we would do is start with a few basic guidelines that I'll put at the bottom of this post, being things that we have already had a problem with. Any one of you can then add, remove(although this needs more people for it), and edit the "guidelines" by telling what you would change, unless some people are against your idea(I won't edit right away, as to give people time to reject your idea, just to be safe, not that I'm expecting bad ideas, if anything this is one). We aren't looking for things that would be good, like releasing the DJ smiley, we are looking for things that are bad so they can be avoided. I'll keep the current list updated in this post in some swell bold writing. As well, I'd like to keep a list of everybody(if anybody) for this idea, because if the list is just made by like 2 people it won't have a very high chance of making an impact(I won't put myself on right away, as I'm not sure about this). What we want here is general stuff not to do, like if an update falls into one of the "guidelines" it's probably a bad idea, so think of general things that might make you wanna quit.
____
Current list:
1. Don't change core parts of the game. New physics blocks are always welcome(and very much wanted), but things changed around are bad.
2. Don't make us unable to use things we already got.
3. Don't make new ways to gain something after it's original release for the sake of people who earned them already, easier or harder, with the exception of sales.
4. Don't change anything that was already added in. Changes in minimap colors and changes to physics, mainly.
5. When adding a new feature(like /respawn) that can be used in any map, make them turned off by default in old maps, like was done with potions. It can break those older maps.
6. Less about updates, but please give a warning before banning somebody(with the exception of shared accounts). Many people were really upset about the Helvi incident.

Starting list:
1. Don't change core parts of the game. (Such as the woot world sorting system when it started up, or when decorations were removed from the minimap.)
2. Don't make us unable to use things we already got. (Smiley-Class thing.)
3. Don't make it easier to gain something after it's original release for the sake of people who earned them already. (Many people's views toward BC, and how it's now far easier to gain max energy.)
4. Don't change anything that was already added in, especially physics. (Such as that change in boost physics a while back, that apparently broke a lot of stuff. When stuff is changed, it tends to break levels. Also, 2, but that deserved it's own thing there.)

Oh yes, good point. I agree, and I doubt anybody will disagree, but I'll wait a bit before changing that.
*agrees with KOTO*
Next things to add:
Don't change minimap colours for blocks.
Don't change physics dramatically.
Don't make things harder to get once the price/energy has been set previously. (AKA magic levels & smileys, or the reason that I quit)

I'm a fan of builders club. And anyone who is anti-builders club, is just a small child who is crying because he has to share his toys.
On topic:
6. Don't ban players without first issuing a warning.
The last thing we need is another Helvi incident (though I fail to see how she did anything wrong) All players should be given a warning to change their ways before they are banned. The exception to the rule being shared accounts.

How about
5: If the player gets a new ability (potions, /respawn) they are automatically turned OFF in all old maps, with the ability to toggle on/off
/respawn makes maps with a life system cheatable, for example.
Agree. However this is easily avoidable if you're resourceful, but still tedious to fix it.

DON'T, and I mean DON'T, ever make ANOTHER "club" that costs a s***load of money to buy. Technically, BC was the main breaker, but, at this point, it's alright.

DO add new interactive blocks that don't change the game a lot (like coin doors, they were really great).
DO NOT change EE's gameplay with new mechanics.
Woah, reply explosion. I'll do some editing to the first post.
Now, the whole BC thing isn't something everybody agrees with, but some do. I'm wondering if we should keep that one there.
Also, I don't wanna add your name to the list unless you say you want to be added, so please say so.
Edit: I'm not sure about putting Greggreggreg's idea on. I would just prefer to have a few people agree before putting it on, because it might send the wrong message. We don't want them to see it and think "We don't want you to make money" or anything, I'm sure keeping EE up isn't cheap.

I don't think that Mr. Shoe could give away the items in any easier way than builders club, apart from giving the items away for free. So I doubt users will have to worry about this sort of thing in the future.
So I mean you could add it in the message, there is really nothing wrong with it, but it will probably ultimately be pointless, because trends show all Chris is out to get is money and he will obtain said money by any means necessary. (Even if it means selling out the limited edition items.)
If they want to make money, why don't they put beta in again? I bet a LOT more people are willing to buy beta than BC. Mainly because BC costs a lot more money and it simply disappears after a period of time. If they want to double the price of beta, no problem, still better price:quality ratio then BC.

Unless you want to play a map by somebody who has left the game.

Currently BC has over 200 members as far as I'm aware. (Although it may have mostly been people who took advantage of the holiday sale.) But as a business venture Chris will make WAY more money on BC then beta. Beta was only $10, a one time investment. Most people who bought beta would probably not buy anything after that, except maybe chat Where as BC is temporary, and see users who like it will continue to pay for it. So not only will Chris make more on the initial purchase, but he will continue to see that purchase over and over (assuming the person who bought it will continue to buy it.)

I support this idea, like the one on the OP.

Helvi indecent? In that context, I think incident works better.
I like the idea I have been playing ee for more than 2 years and I agree with all of these.
Although this idea is fairly nice, I would bet everything in existence that MrShoe won't listen. He's the dictator, remember?
Of course, if you don't keep your people fed and busy...
I'm a fan of builders club. And anyone who is anti-builders club, is just a small child who is crying because he has to share his toys.
Most people who are against Builders Club are only against it because of the ridiculous price. Since you seem to disagree, I assume you're okay with spending a hundred bucks a year to place a few extra portals in a little game?

I do agree that is is overpriced, however I took advantage of the holiday sale and got a yearly subscription for $24. However, I doubt that just because it's overpriced is the only reason people are against it. Most people are probably just upset because now newbies can get all the blocks, and I mean come on that's kind of a lame reason to be upset.
Either way, this is kind of off topic and if you wish to pursue this conversation further feel free to PM me.

Yikes. Typos. That's for telling me.
Also, added everybody else to like this to the list. Thanks guys.
Edit: Also, who's in favour of removing 3?
