Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

EE Isn't Dead

No scientific [redacted] here. Just to say one word -- this game still has players so it's not dead. Dead is 0 online.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

It used to be 2000 players online at a time. Hell, 300 compared to 2000 isn't much. About 85% have left since then.

@Creature: Not really. There will still be screenshots, and special memories (well not really) of this in our head.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

I've always said it's dying not dead. I don't see many people saying it's dead already.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

It may seem like it's dieing, but are we at our limits? This is probably around the lowest population we'll get down to. It's because EE is too complicated now, spawn points are all over the place compared to the original spawn, and the variations of blocks create eyerape. Why would players stay? Classic EE was so much more simple and kept EE a creative game, not an RPG-ish game.
But, to counterargument, there will always be players who like the RPG-side of EE, so having 0 online would be virtually impossible. Weekends are your score to see blasting high population. Oh yeah, summer is the season of when EE actually can be restored, so be ready for "restoration plans".

Re: EE Isn't Dead

I don't think the game is dead. I think it's far from it. Yes, it is a bit of a bore not having updates, but I still think the game is alright. Older players are leaving because we are tired of the game. After playing 3-4 years you get tired of the same stuff all the time. However in the last month or so, the game has made a huge change. Better worlds are being made, and people are working together on them. I would take this any day over Crews, Stairs, Troll maps, bosses, and NOOBS OUT THE ****!

Everybody Edits is only dead if everyone agrees so.
As long as I'm around, that's not the case.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

Do not lose heart guys, I recently spoke with RPGMaster2000 in steam!
He said that when he was finished his game (and it is coming soon), he will start to develop EE and will try to revive it..
Either he will find someone else who can take care of this game .. as this game is very unique in its kind

if someone have a steam, add me -> http://steamcommunity.com/id/ArteomR
i have in steam friend list a lot of old EE players and admins

Re: EE Isn't Dead

Considering RPG has 500 games in his Steam account, he's probably got a lot of stuff he can do instead of working on EE.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

I still don't understand how EE is RPG-ish. It has leveling up, but that's not really a characteristic of RPGs; it's in all types of games. Other than that, it has lots and lots of blocks and smileys, and you can woot levels (Things that have changed since the 'Classic' times). None of those seem RPG-ish to me.

Well, in role playing games you are a character. You go around and complete quests to earn new items and level up. In EE you are a smiley. You go around and play levels to get magic coins to increase your energy to buy new items to create new levels.
-
In RPG games you can interact with the people around you and pretend to apart of the virtual universe. In EE you can interact with the people around you and pretend to be in a virtual universe.
-
The only real difference I see between EE and RPG's is battling enemies to level up, and such things like experience points and health bars etc...

Re: EE Isn't Dead

Still, the concept is vastly different to an RPG. EE is based on creating things for other people to play, or playing what other people have made, while an RPG is usually a playthrough of quests that the developers have made. I can understand why people would say it's like an RPG, but I think that EE also has a lot of RPG elements missing. Combat, like you said, but also NPCs, quests, a storyline,   a lot of different items, etc. EE is a multiplayer sandbox game in which you create things for other people, while RPGs often don't have anything to do with creating things, but instead combat and quests are large components in this style of gameplay.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

I find it funny that all these people have talked to Chris and RPG and I've only seen proof of one conversation...
If it is true that he will come back (IF being a key word) I imagine a decent block pack coming out, then the level up system being abolished.

Re: EE Isn't Dead

This is a really debatable topic, I feel like the EE now is total waste of my time, but all good things must come to an end, right?

That's true, but we can still make it last longer. People often forget about this, and end up considering Everybody Edits "dead" or "dying" despite the fact that they are partly the fault for it.
