Forum Speed Boost

You may be noticing the forums are loading much faster. This is because I've blocked off many malicious bots from visiting this site. Almost instantly after I saved the file, I noticed the forums got much, much faster.

I guess we had a lot of bad bots coming!

Over the next few days I'll be blocking more bad bots, so expect forum speeds to increase even further.

You'll also have to find your Nike Air Jordans elsewhere too.

This may not block spambots necessarily, but it might at least slow them down.

Good job Cyclone I noticed that the forums were faster were faster this morning. Any ways thanks Cyclone for making the forums faster and thanks for being an awesome administrator for EE +rep for you. Offtopic but shouldn't Chris take down the Black Friday   sales and update the blog.

I have encountered some loading errors to some topics.....does this have to do anything with the speed boost?

If you can't log onto the forums any more, you should probably set your useragent to something other than that of something which has already been identified as a malicious bot.

If you can't log onto the forums any more, you should probably set your useragent to something other than that of something which has already been identified as a malicious bot.

how do you set your useragent?

If you don't know, then you won't be affected by my block. No browser will use one of those bad ones by default.

I don't really feel a difference, actually.

[EDIT] In fact, after trying to Submit, it gave me a 404...

Another problem.

If someone is posting as you click on the post, then your screen freezes for a few seconds

Now it gave me a 404 error.
