I voted one color, but only because all of the other suggestions were just terrible.
I suggest landscapes. Playable landscapes that have paths that aren't just black trails on the minimap, although that may be extremely hard to do.
I hate tall signatures.

One Color:
Players choose one brick to work with and only one brick. Shading will rely on stippling and similar techniques. Gravity arrows, portals, and coins, will be allowed because they don't appear on the minimap. Black blocks are allowed, but over-usuage could hurt your score.
These rules could be modified upon popular demand. If One Color wins, perhaps we could have a vote on "one brick" versus "one shade".
