Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I think probably, what do you all think?
The creator of a topic has a right to close it, I don’t think we should take that power away from them.
That said, anyone else can just make a new topic - I suppose then it is the forum staff’s choice to merge and hence reopen the topic or just let the new one be it’s own thing.
I don’t think there’s much discussion value in continuing the argument with minisaurus, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t getting a good chuckle from it.
Create your own topic of the same thing in a different perspective to be enough different from the previous topic.
Nope. OP owns the thread and can do whatever they want with it, within the rules.

this feature made the most sense for forum games so idk actually

Hmm I wonder if that's maybe the point of creating a topic to discuss whether it should become a rule.
would be ironic if this topic would suddenly close

I'm pretty sure a topic like this has been created before and this is exactly what the OP did.
iirc it was when Anatoly was still active
Lol @ Minisaurus employing Anatoly tactics with a straight face. Never thought someone like him would stoop to such a level, but here we are.
Back on topic, I'd say we should allow people to close their topics whenever they want for any reason they want. It's annoying when an OP abuses this so they can shout into the void without fear of refutation, but I don't think that happens often enough to warrant any sort of change.
