well i doont have scool but im finaly working for 5 full days again for now a month or 2
one of my workplaces used ot be closed due to too many people in a short rang eof each other (it was a few weeks after COVID-19 hits our country) my other coudl stay open and we could stay away form each other (1.5Meter in our country) i work there 2days i started workign there an extrday until after like 8 weeks orso my other wokr place opened for a few clients (i was one of the first) and they chnaged hte setup and added arrows ect on how to walk
transportation is quite normal except you have to wear masks
but oh well its sad i diidn tgo on holiday but instead (we haddnt boked anything yet so we didnt need to cancel which is good) we got family come over from another country which was also nice
its now basically an wating game fortha vacinne

In UK, screw the local lockdown because either way, you're still going to school (after the holiday) even if there'll be increase in cases around your area.

I go back to university in September but my lectures don't start until October and, as I understand it, most of them will be online with the occasional face to face every so often.

As for schools, I think they are resuming in September with 'protective measures' in place that will likely be mostly redundant since you can't exactly social distance very effectively in schools.

had a weird realization this morning walking to class. the dorms I walked past are filled with people now despite the situation, locally and especially nationally, being almost immeasurably worse than when they gave us 2 days notice to boot us out of the dorms and start spring break a week early. We didn't have our first case here in the city until months after that, and it stayed single digits for more months. Now we're in the triple digits locally and well into the millions nationally and at least here in my redneck corner of the world people are being more belligerent than ever.

So I had a horrible business pitch and I could think of no better place to bring it up.

We have people who think that the whole "don't overflow the hospitals" concern is bogus. And people who think that they should attend Coronavirus parties to get it early. And people who think that we should just all get sick and let people die however that falls.

SO. What if there's significant overlap? Let's just make a formal waiting list! For hospitals that are significantly under capacity, we could play the statistics and schedule volunteers to just... be infected with it. Caveat? You're locked in a hotel room with two week's provisions. And you're monitored. But no guests.

Is this a bad idea? Surely. but does it check a lot of boxes? I think so.

no we have no freakign idea what will happen to you after youre 'cured' nor is it 100% guranted youre cured if you dont have any signals aynmore this is the worst idea ever why cant you just be patient and wait till there is an vaccine that will do the samejob for you alos midn you there is NO endivice you cant get it an 2nd time randomy infectign poeple an dlocking them up is an teribble idea you could come out worse then you got in you would eneed to take 2/3 weeks off of work and you can tknwo for sur ehow long you will have the covid-19 and what if you get ill of some other bad thing? you would want to visit th ehospital to get that thgin cured but thnen you would need ot get out of the room while you have COVID-19 also what the **** are you goign to do 2 week slogn in an hotel room while oyu may NOT leave it? and tbh if you want to do it this way just infecting half otf th epopulaition then ho are you gonna find those poeple?

Only problem with that is that it's looking more and more like COVID is going to be more like the common cold: fast-mutating with multiple strains. We're setting a small handful of reinfections so it could be that immunity only lasts a few months until your strain mutates enough to become unrecognizable, and even then it's only the one strain you're immune to.

^ True. This is no solution to anything. But if people are going to go out and try and get infected anyway, they could at least do it responsibly. /s?

But I have to say, this is an interestingly long-winded issue. It feels like we've grown inured -- whatever a person thinks of the situation, they probably won't be persuaded at this point.

Feel slightly erked about kids going back to school as my family is in a lot of contact with my nibblings.
Feel really annoyed at how little people care about each other around here, a mask is not an issue to do yet people are incapable of doing it, incapable of keeping distance too.

Nobody with an unbiased and sceptical approach to “research” uses freaking Alex Jones as a news source. Wake up.

EDIT: That paper could be sound evidence or **** crazy, but since none of us are experts in gene editing we can’t evaluate it one way or another on its own. Looking for peer-review of that report would be a better start.

I'm personally willing to believe that this virus is indeed man-made given sufficient evidence - I'm yet to see proof of that though. However, I don't think for a single second that it would have been intentionally released as part of some kind of chinease government master plan. At most it's something they were developing/experimenting with that escaped.
