I am not Xeno's staff. My "position" as EE staff is essentially honorary and only exists because I own the official EE forums. If any forum staff member tried to manipulate the kind of way you're insinuating, they would immediately no longer be forum staff. It's not like I haven't done exactly that in the past.

The Discord server you're referring to is not in the slightest a journalistically independent source.

It is a bazar in which everyone can say anything about anyone without any kind of factual-check.
Comparing that to any kind of journalism is extremely wrong.

Comparing a rational moderation decision to Forum submission over the EE staff has severe implications and should not be left without comprehensible arguments in a quality independent journalism.

The EE Discord has at times collaborated with the EE Staff in various ways, whilst remaining independent.

Most notably:
EE Discord provided intelligence to the EE moderation team when requested.
EE Discord censored the share of modified clients, EE leaks, and other elements that would hurt the game or its players.

I believe it's fine to ban for offensive jokes, provided there are rules against doing so. I'm not sure what the rules are, but I couldn't find them easily so they should be in a place where someone can find them if they want to read them. An example of a rule to prevent jokes like this is "No hate speech, slurs, or joking about topics like suicide or rape."
The benefits of having a rule page like this is that when someone breaks a rule, it can simply be reported as breaking specifically that rule.
The wording of each rule should be strong. "Spreading False Illegal Acts As Legitimate" does have "i was making a joke" as a legitimate excuse, because there are some bad jokes that exist that are technically claiming a false illegal act yet tend to be ignored because of how obvious it is as a joke.

I don't believe jawapa's ban was justified, though. They were being aggressive, yes, but that's when explaining why the ban occurred should happen (rather than attacking the person asking).

When is Xeno going to seriously respond to this topic? Some users talked with him on Discord but Xeno is being strangely silent here.

Also, how can we untangle the discussions here? Game ownership is the kind of thing I want to talk about, but the topic seems to have derailed a lot from its main point. Tomahawk made the topic even messier by merging Gosha's topic, so a topic about the actual subject (passing ownership to JoshuaStone) would likely just be merged again.

Xeno has a track record of causing problems and then never actually responding when people talk about them on the forums, and so far this topic seems to be no different. He's hoping that if he ignores this it'll go away, but every time he does so, he's turning more and more of his community against him.

Xeno believes that his anger management issues don't make him a bad owner, but that's just false. The constant turmoil is very much taking its toll on the game, not only by draining good-will from its players but also by shooting down staff morale.

A change in ownership would do wonders for everyone involved. The players get to feel better about supporting the game, the staff get to work under someone more competent, and Xeno gets to relax and work on his mental issues.

I told you many times he made MANY mistakes, yet he does not improve. MANY, not ONE.

You expect an owner who doesn't improve to own the game well? Sure I admit that he did many great updates, but his personality is what ruins him.

If it's not up to the community to change owners, then I guess it's also not up to the players to shape the game into how they want? The game will become what xeno only likes instead of what PLAYERS like, your suggestion won't be added. You sure you want that?

It's not just "a" mistake, peace. It's a cascade.

And when problems like these occur so often, it ultimately harms the game. Joshua's account confirms so; the constant drama is slowing the progress of EEU down because it kills team morale.
