Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hazbin Hotel

Well, this thing's been out for almost a month now but I only discovered it yesterday; And I'm already obsessed with it.
If you haven't watched it yet, the first (and only) episode is free on Youtube and I definitely recommend it due to it probably being one of the best animated shows I've ever seen. Do be warned, while there's nothing particularly NSFW, the show definitely talks about a lot of heavy and mature themes.

My thoughts

So yeah, I'd love to hear what you guys think about it.

Re: Hazbin Hotel

I liked it. The animation is so busy that I feel bad for not pausing every other frame to look at the detail.

I'm having a hard time working out the genre, which makes me wonder if the next episodes are gonna be as interesting. They could've made it a lot funnier by putting in more dank/adult jokes, but it seems like it's gonna head for a wholesome conclusion so they can't just mess around for lulz in every episode like a Family Guy / American Dad type shtick. We'll see.

You might enjoy Vivziepop's other pilot, set in the same universe. It's a little less wholesome.

Re: Hazbin Hotel

I watched a few minutes of it. Way too much going on at once with a wild sporadic story. I suppose that's the appeal for some people?

Re: Hazbin Hotel

Yeah I kinda agree with atilla - the story/pacing was way off, and moved too fast to really follow

I think the issue is that it's a pilot, and they were trying to fit as much ~c o n t e n t~ in as they could to try to sell the show as an idea. You can see the same problem in their other pilot, where the episode is basically 5 flashbacks describing the characters tied together

The animation/voice acting is good though

Re: Hazbin Hotel

I saw it a few weeks ago, and I absolutely adore it. The first (and currently only) episode was amazing, and I love all the characters. The animation was amazing, the music good, and the premise unique. It had a few problems here and there, but it's easily the best pilot I've seen despite being a YouTube project. And as Tomahawk pointed out, Helluva Boss just released which I also like a lot (though it's not nearly as good as Hazbin IMO, but that's just because Hazbin is so good).

Re: Hazbin Hotel

I like the animation, every frame looks like an artpiece. And the story they try to tell seems nice.
I don't like how there's not much room to think while watching, and the jokes seem a bit forced. To me this show feels like everything is a high, and there are no lows to support the highs. If they would make the emotions more subtle, the extreme emotions would be much more meaningful, same thing for the speed of the story. It also feels like they force a joke everytime there's space for it, makes it very predictable and the jokes start to annoy me a little. A lot of the jokes were also not very original.

Maybe if I were on acid I'd enjoy it more.

A 14 year old probably won't see anything they haven't already seen, but you on the other hand may be too young for it.
