Ya okay... I'm not here to compare tragedies, but seriously dude.

Yeah, no offense to the victims of this event, but there have been so many terrible events in the world. Of which hundreds of thousands of innocent lives have been lost. Why should 9/11 in particular be such a big deal? I'm thinking it's a big thing in the US because it's a focal point in American history whose recognition and remembrance brings unity to the nation.
You don't see this kind of widespread recognition for the My Lai massacre for example, though it's still remembered to some extent and that's good.
