Oddly, infinity is not a number, but just a concept because it breaks a lot of formulas.
For example, if I have the equation 5*infinity = infinity, and I divide both sides by infinity, I get 5 = 1, which isn't true. However, any number times infinity is infinity. So, 5*infinity = infinity should be a true statement.
Basically, infinity causes a contradiction in normal Math, so it's not a number, but more of an "almost a number".
