Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hi, it's pretty lame for Everybody Edits to end its 9 year run as a "forfeit" to hacker/s. I don't know why the leadership is not negotiating with the hacker/s. To the staff, please bring it back online for a designated "good bye" week that we are alerted of beforehand. I think deep inside everyone wants to give a proper good bye to EE. It meant something, to many. It was the perfect expressionistic platform that harnered truly majykal experiences, even if unphotographed. A "game" is simply a mental puzzle with a means to an end, it's mostly brain; but EE at its best was completely heart.
To the hacker/s, I have a proposal: may we band together for one last week to commemorate EE in its historical entirety, despite the current situation that some may "not be happy" with? This current situation has only gone on for roughly a year, and even if some may "not be happy" with it it's only been like this for one year. Let's not limit our view of time. Let's remember it all.

Why try and take back a game that's going to go offline in a few months anyway when they can just focus on EEU

I guess they want it back to get gems to get beta to play EEU? I don't know but that's what I'm doing.

If the security issue is with PlayerIO as Xeno claims, the hacker(s) may have never played EE.
Negotiation isn’t an option. “Yeah pls don’t vacuum up people’s emails. Ok? Cool? Cool. Free gems for you.”
One bot to rule them all, one bot to find them. One bot to bring them all... and with this cliché blind them.

IMO the hacker is someone petty and way too emotionally attached to and obsessive over a flash game with jumping smiley faces that was on its way out anyway. Plenty of things they could have done with account information and passwords, and all they do is use it to get attention.
