Data Security Breach 2 - Please Update Your Passwords
Hi Everybody,
On Sunday, July 21st, 2019, a file was leaked containing the account information of 882 accounts, including:
Usernames
Emails
Passwords
We believe these are passwords from between the dates of April 6th - July 21st (although it may have been from a shorter time frame within these dates). We do not yet know the details over how these passwords have been acquired, but we are investigating further.
For the time being, we have had to prevent anyone from logging in to any accounts with passwords. As such, it is currently still possible to play Everybody Edits on Kongregate, but that is currently the only location it is possible to play from. Any linked accounts have been temporarily unlinked, and you should be able to play on Kongregate if your account was previously linked from there.
We have also reset the passwords for every account listed below, so you will no longer be able to use previous passwords to log in to your accounts if your password was leaked. Please make sure to change any passwords you may have on other sites, especially if you shared a password with Everybody Edits. We highly recommend that you have unique passwords on different websites.
Aside from the 882 accounts listed, we do not currently have any evidence to suggest any other accounts have been compromised.
After further investigation, and working to combat these security concerns, we will bring the game back up, and provide further updates on the situation.

On topic, I highly stress to everyone to use a password for EE that they don't use anywhere else. This should really be done for all websites, but security breaches are not as common on those websites as they seem to be on Everybody Edits. I know it's already said in the main topic, but most people are probably too focused on the list of compromised accounts. Seriously though, make a new password for EE even if you have to keep it on a sticky note near your computer.

I honestly didn't expect this to happen again, especially when the game was approaching near the end of its lifespan... 
I want to change my password on EE, but there's a problem: The game is shutdown, so I can't log out to do it, though I'll figure it out eventually. 
Edit: Or not. I guess I'll have to wait until the game's back on.

Fun fact: If you happen to see my username or Sticksam on Twitter/x or on other sites, that's actually a different person, NOT me. I never use Twitter/x. I just wanted to clear up the confusion a bit for those who are not aware of this, lol.
I honestly know little to nothing about them when I first saw those names on the internet. XD (Might have to give myself a bit of a different nickname at some point in the future.)

What a **** joke.
Like yeah, it's nice that the staff team took action to stop and fix the issue and all, but the fact that this is the second time people's personal information got leaked is massive problem.
For anyone reading - if you're planning to play EE once it's back online, stop. Do not play the game at all, because as demonstrated, you are never truly safe in EE. It doesn't matter how unimportant you believe your information is, it's still yours, and it should stay that way.
