I want to host the next mafia game. Why? Because i am sorely dissapointed with the last one i participated in, so i want to make sure it is done right this time. We deserve to get a fair, just and hopefully fun mafia game without any frustrations. If people are interested then please, sign up!

This game will be open setup.
The reason i want to follow Onjit’s style of setup is because i found it to be the most fun overall, as it allows for an unpredictable game, but still keeps the player able to somewhat expect the possibility of an outcome based on understandable variations. Meaning they can strategize and understand when they are taking risks, rather than making the entire game a blind and broken mess like Slabdrill’s mafia 25.
I want a simple game with interesting roles, there are only two factions: town and mafia. As it should be.
Also: only the mafia will be able to read the mafia chat! (HIGHLY IMPORTANT!)

72 hour days. 24 hour nights.

Startup date will be the 2nd of July 14:00 gmt+2 (Tuesday)

If someone sees flaws or potential for changes in my setup i am open to suggestions at this stage.

The town must work to find and eliminate all of the mafia before the town faction becomes a minority. Each person may vote to lynch a player or to end the day early.

Innocent bystander
You are a townie
You may use your voice and vote only.

Soulmates
You two are townies
You have a shared bond with *player* If one of you are nightkilled or lynched the other one will die as well.
Your power is used during the day. You have the ability to secretly lower or expand the required votes for lynching by one unit. It can be used only once per day, and once it is activated it can not be reverted until a lynch passes or the day ends. Nobody will be notified of this change until the end of the day. !Endday votes will always require the same amount of votes, even if the power is activated.
Your partner shares this power, use the private chat to coordinate between the two of you which one will use it.

You are a townie
Each night you may mark an individual for death. If you get nightkilled by the mafia your ability will activate, taking that person with you. The curse is irreversible and will pass through protection. If you are lynched the ability will not work.

Pharmacist
You are a townie
You may protect one individual each night, keeping them safe from any harm. You can not protect yourself.

Local cop
You are a townie
You can investigate a player on each night. Result will yield either: Mafia or Townie.

Ace detective
You are a townie
You can investigate a player on each night. Result will reveal the person’s full role card.

Unstable gunman
You are a townie
You may attempt to nightkill any individual. If the victim is a townie your nightkill will succed and you’ll die too. If the victim is protected, nothing happens. If your victim is a mafia your nightkill will succeed and you won’t die. When you have succesfully killed one mafia your ability can no longer be used. If a mafia is targeting you or your target on the same night as your nightkill, the mafia’s nightkill will take priority.

The oracle
You are a townie
Each night you may select an player to observe. Each action the player performs and/or receives will be revealed to you at the end of the night.
Your role cannot be protected.

Mafia: (There are 3 mafia members. One member will always be the lowlife. 2 out of 4 power roles will be randomly assigned to the remaining mafia)
Your faction will have to use teamwork and strategize to eliminate the town majority and prevent the mafia from being lynched. Only one mafia member can nightkill per night.

You have the power to perform the mafia nightkill.

You may equip any role card in the game which will be shown to those that investigate you. The ace detective will see your impersonated role card. The local cop will see your impersonated faction.

Each night you may select an player to observe. Each action the player performs and/or receives will be revealed to you at the end of the night.

You can not nightkill and observe at the same time.

You have the ability to end a day prematurely. It can only be used once through the entire game. If the host is not awake and thread remains open, the curfew will override any lynch votes made after the time in which the ability was activated. The day must last at least 1 hour before this ability can be used.

Each night you may temporarily disable the power of any townie. Turning them into an innocent bystander for that night. You can not use this power on the same person for two nights in a row.

I think that this may be a little bit too demanding. Sure, there's 20 people in mafia 25, but I feel like that large number was more of a fluke than anything else.
I'll still join, but I'm wary that you might not meet your criteria. You should be wary as well tbh.

I'm not going to play this one. Not because I find anything wrong with the setup or host and I'm also not burnt out on playing games; the sole reason I'm not going to play this one is that there are too many players. I don't even like playing large games on mafiascum and this forum certainly isn't cut out for them. The amount of players is one of the reasons that I'm not finding much motivation to post in mafia 25.

I agree that this is optimal as it is widely used as a standard in many forms of mafia games, but I'm personally okay with up to 15.

There will be only up to 15 players in the game due to popular demand. Available power roles will remain, but fewer people are given them. If you have any concerns, please voice them.
Also Luka, if you want to write flavour text. Please do. That would be nice.

I'm not going to hide or sugarcoat the fact that i think Slabdrill's game is trash. But that is just my personal opinion, i'm going to be professional when hosting mafia 26. I also want you to understand that i'm not against anyone playing Slabdrill's mafia game if they think it's fun.
While my anger at Slabdrill's game is undoubtedly a contributing cause to me having started to plan out this mafia game. I have indeed wanted to be a host for one of the mafia games for a while, because i thought it seemed like it would be fun to me. I want to see how it plays out.
I'm not going to start this game until at least a week or more has passed since Slabdrill's game so i don't want you to think that i don't respect the people who still want to keep playing his game.

A: It doesn't really matter if the people keep talking. When the quota for a lynch is met, that lynch will happen after i lock the topic. It will be up to the town to figure out what just happened. If the quota is higher, people will have to guess that, unless i specifically tell them that the lynch will not happen yet.

A: It only works if the mafia kills you. Each night, if you have this role. You may "mark" an person you want to die together with you. If you live, nothing happens. You can only have one person selected at all times. Each night you may either keep the person you have selected or change the person.

A: Yes, it only works on a mafia member. If a mafia kills the same target, and that target is a townie, you will die too. Because what's important is whether or not the person you targeted is a townie. If he is, you will die.

A: Well, yes. I wrote this role with the idea that there would be more power roles, so i'm not sure how useful it would be anymore. Maybe i'll change it.

A: You're still allowed to talk as long as the topic is open, but any lynch votes created after this power is activated will be rendered invalid. And yes, there is no way to know until the host ends the day.
