Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I did not expect such a stall in development, and I don't really see what caused it.
I can only suppose they code & recode the same things, over and over.
My new estimate is October-November for a minimum EE-style EEU, released to broad public.
I also noticed a significant decrease in Patreon donation amount.
I am glad that more and more people came to understand that donating huge amount of money towards EE is prodigal.
Everybody edits, but some edit more than others

Also donating 1 time should be good. But with patreon you donate monthly and still have nothing changed.
Where goes all money? I mean people have paid monthly which mean a lot of money.
Then there is this so called EE Offline which never looks to be finished. What I knew it was going to be coded in Flash.
And the reason was "easy to make". Still have cercul1 not delivered it.
Gosha that used to code in pcode same as me for EE SWF have made more progress than anyone. But he is kicked, so I guess there will not come more good updates to the swf.
Maybe the reason there is only campaigns released. I really hate all campaigns. I have never liked it.

this could be a vicious circle
Tbh, I really doubt they are dedicating to EEU(O) more than 4 hours a day, which is a regular half time job
If that would be the case, the game would be done by now
People spent way less time on numerous EE remakes, I don't see how could this take over 1.5 years to make, even if we had one developer
They're either procrastinating or got other heavy stuff on their hands (exams, etc)
What is Xeno's part in the development process?
I may have missed something, but I never heard anyone mention him actually coding or developing something? He's got more free time on his hands than his devs, yet the only things that I know he's doing are writing official posts and manipulating the databases (banning/unbanning accounts, etc)
Also, I'm fairly confident that he's giving himself a higher wage from the donations, than his devs. What for?

From what I know, EE is the only source of revenue for him.
He also dreams of producing other games, once he is done with EEU.
He is a manger but with little to none programming knowledge, just like in the stereotypical sitcoms.
I wish we had access to some metrics, even something insubstantial such as the number of commits per month, could be more reassuring than having nothing.

lol why release a game when you can easily profit with little to no effort by just saying you're developing it
no need to compete in any sort of market to gain revenue when you can just kickstart it

I told you about it in January. Building the game from nothing is not an easy job. EE might seem easy to program because there aren't so much elements. But once you get into it, EE has a lot content (even if you don't see it).
Combine that with the facts that real development started only in mid january and josh was still learning about typescript and you get a recipe for this stall in development when it took josh almost a week to develop just a fully functional blockbar. (i'm not showing off, but it took me 2 days to make all UI support for EEjs including blockbar. And although it doesn't support "scrolling", it still shouldn't take so much time)

The main reason EEU is taking a long time compared to EE clones is that we're putting a lot of design effort into making sure than 1. we don't end up with something like EE where the code is a mess and it's difficult to add new features, and 2. the actual game is well planned out. That's just something that people making clones don't really care about, so they can churn out code a lot faster. Combine that with the need to both perform well and look good and you've got something that takes significantly longer than a clone or whatever.

I expect an EEU clone after EEU is released

Making a clone is probably also easier since you can just grab code from regular ee and use it since the code in flash is still the same but from flash to whatever eeu is on would be harder because the languages work different.

Making a clone might be just a little bit easier because of the client which you just take from original EE. The server is where people can mess up and easily. Plus it takes effort to actually one which is somewhat similar to EE's
