Someone hacked the game. People got godmode/edit in campaign worlds, messages were sent in all chats, people's name colors were changed, people got mod or admin. It said the game updated and now the game isn't loading

It looks like EE is being DDoS'd or something because my tab keeps reloading. Or maybe the server is down. Either way, my client keeps crashing and I think it's because the client doesn't have anything to handle a downed server.

The mod/admin thing was caused by an exploit which allowed someone to give random players full admin rights, we've currently shut down the game to make sure as little is damaged as possible, and are looking into how to fix the exploit.

To our knowledge, no passwords have been leaked, but in-game data like worlds may have been modified...

Sorry for the downtime, but it is necessary for now while we sort out the problem, we'll get it back up and running as soon as we can.

How did they exploit the game? I thought the server-side code was hidden from people on the client.

I hope they don't ruin my progress in campaigns. I'm still stuck on "Helix Reborn" near the end.
