lol when was the last time you logged into EE?

Long story short someone is using various IP addresses and a series of spam bots to flood EE. IP Banning them has no effect since they just switch to another, and they easily bypass EE's security features for registering new accounts (most of their usernames are just random strings of letters+numbers)

Why they do it is beyond me. Since spending all your time on spamming a smiley game seems kinda pointless. (unless its an ex-staff member/ordinary player seeking revenge on the game)

It's been going on for a while, an update was also released to counter it a few weeks back.

i think growler did it, he sent me a msg on ee saying he got ip banned by xeno because he was world spamming

I have an 76-year-old grandma who plays EE. She can't type (can't mute), she's not English. Today she said a bot was spamming her very "disturbing words" and upon investigation, they were links. I was obviously very embarrassed and told her the game is usually not like this. And if she is making worlds to make them private.

Please save my grandma. Please do something about this.

If staff really cared about this they would have taken action or at least addressed this as an issue. They could put a captcha before you log into the game, yes it would be a very drastic thing to disallow any kind of bots into the game, but it's better than having the game crashing every 20 minutes because the whole lobby is spammed and there's bots sending pornographic links.

Limiting pm/sec would be a stupid restriction for legit players.
Worlds created per min would actually make no sense.

I'm still sticking to my idea of captcha on login.
