Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

[EEU] Music, and democracy!

I was thinking recently about music being added to the game, and some people referencing that there may only be official music. I have an idea that may work for filtering out bad music.

It would be completely community ran, and a democracy.

First you would provide a link to a YouTube video to a section in the lobby, titled music or something. Then it would be added to a mass list, with different sections like featured, new, hot, Ect.. Once this is done you could snag a music id from it, and use it on a music trigger for maps. Now here is how we would filter out bad music, if a song is not appropriate or it breaks the rules you can vote to have it removed. You may be asking, what if a song is randomly picked by trolls and removed? That's when if a song you uploaded is removed for no good reason, you would report it to moderators; they in turn would remove the ability for anyone who took part in the vote, via ip, to add music or vote for it's removal. That would filter out any trolls over time, and allow for clean/ safe music to still exist.
If you have any suggestions on how this could be improved, or thoughts just leave a reply; Thanks!

-Ian

so basically i upload music, trolls vote to remove it, i report the trolls, moderator removes their voting ability and they just make new accounts and start all over again
do you realize how much of a headache would that be for everyone?
also banning "via ip" isnt much effective with people using dynamic IPs

tbh allowing players to upload/create music as midi files only would be the best way to allow custom music, in my opinion

It ip bans them, It wouldn't be a headache after it dies down. It wouldn't matter if they made new accounts, it still wouldn't work. Also dynamic ip's are the routers assigning ip's, not the actual computer's ip..

Lyrical music is **** anyway, so MIDI files are honestly the best option here.

Despite what people say, Different55 is the best mod.

still can use VPN
the whole moderating thing is a bad option and overly complicated
if we had midi files only there would be no need for moderating music

I second this. EE\[U\] doesn't really need full audio files, and short of encoding inappropriate content in MIDI a la this (which becomes low-quality and is easily thwarted with a note limit per time quantum) it would eliminate the need to curate content.

Also diff why can't I escape square brackets? >:^(
