Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

If you don't want to get a notifcation every time someone posts in the topic you can mute it and it won't highlight or show a dot. This could be useful in sticky topics because they are usually sticky because it's the rules or it's some special thing that isn't really a discussion, for example in questions and answers you could mute the minigame help one because that's 1 person helping other people so you rarely to never need to go on the post. Or if a post gets a lot of replies but nothing new really gets posted it could be useful.

Then don't check it or use the Active topics list to see exactly what topics are active without diving into the individual forums.

It makes me think that there is another suggestion but then it's just a comment on something I don't wanna see. And using the active thing doesn't help like at all and doesn't have to do anything with this.

A mute topic button won't solve that. Your solution is "just quit clicking on it"

Well then how am I going to tell if there is a new post or if it's just the post I don't wanna read? A mute button is going to solve it because you don't get a notification of it when a new message s typed. It would still say [new posts] behind it but it would't show a blue or orange dot (or idk what other themes there are).

diff the mute button is just so you dont see a notification that tehre is a new post when it sjust in a garbag etopic you dont want to get notifications from say for example in th eofficaly intor/outro thread you dont want to see messages from there but still wanna read all other important stuffwhen you open forums you will still see a higlighted dot neat forum discussion only to open it for nonsense
thanks hg for making this much better and ty for my avatar aswell
