Different signs

different types of signs instead of ugly normal color signs like a sign that fits a specific theme.
Examples
Fairy tale pink or blue
Forest moss on it perhaps
Christmas, maybe snow hanging off the side of it

stuff like that i think is very neat and adds something more than just a plain, simple sign.

Signs are always dead, they saw it in the shape but it was a tree, a living one. Unless they add metal signs in the game or just write it on a tree deco that expands every week and it passes trough the world border, so you can get out of the world border. Then it gets into a parallel universe of the world that has no players in it and it breaks it's own block by replacing it with a piece of tree top and then the entire thing cancels and you're stuck outside the world. That all because the tree lives and grows when it lives
