Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Of course it does on minimal, because it's the same client. Genius.
I reported this directly to Xenonetix, few minutes after the update, yet it hasn't been fixed, which is weird considering a developer had wooted this.
It's really not an issue to worry about, so you can just ignore it.

Well how am I supposed to know minimal and bootloader are the same? And it only happened today and just now it put the halloween logo. And it doesn't happen on the normal site so why are the clients different? Explain that. Mr. Genius.

Call them how you want, the main page, beta page, minimal page, the projector, the executable, the direct SWF url. They all lead to the same client. The same client with the default globe.
And to let you know that at the moment you wrote your post, the globe was fixed. That explains why you suddenly saw the Halloween globe in the main page.

Oh okay, but how did I get the halloween one yesterday when this has been going on since day 1 then? Does it randomly occur?

devs replaced the halloween image with the normal image for some reason by accident

Yesterday's minor update, due to branching issues, included the default globe, instead of the Halloween globe that was pushed with the Halloween update.
If you got the Halloween globe yesterday, it was because you opened the client before said update. It doesn't occur randomly, and it hasn't been happening since day 1.

Oh, because it only happened once to me.
