Why do they need to be beaten in order? It's kinda weird if you beat a tier you haven't unlocked, it doesn't count as you beating it. If you beat it, you beat it. This would also let us play with our friends who are at a tier we currently are not at, unless this is changed.
The final tier rewards could be changed to give the main prize when all tiers are completed, like the devil skull, so you still have to beat the whole campaign for the good stuff.

Well I mean, Tutorial and Perpetual Frustration are both available to pick from, which you're free to pick which one to play first. If one is too hard, you can pick an earlier campaign, and in this case, the same thing with tiers.

There's not really a story to Journey.. is there? I mean the start and end of the levels have a small preview of the next/previous level, but there's no actual story.
