Player.IO has updated their authentication API and for that reason, if anyone is able to login with a shared account, they're able to change the email and/or password.
I've gone ahead and taken a bunch of mass-shared accounts as a sort of precautionary measure, and for fun. I've stored the original emails along with the accounts so if the actual owners want them back, hit me up.

So yeah. If your account is shared, you're pretty much screwed. I'd say change your email while you can.
