i washed my keyboard on my laptop once, it's ded. now it is a zombie.
I'm pretty sure I've heard of someone that spilt a fizzy drink into their keyboard and put it in the washing machine because they assumed it was broken anyway, and somehow it started working again!
So don't wash your keyboard unless it's a last resort I guess
