I think it's because on a real guitar, you can play an E on every string-- But because the strings are different "thicknesses", they sound slightly different. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

Seems a bit excessive for a game like EE, but that's just what the previous developers decided on.

Sounds about right. On my guitar the top two strings (E and B) are nylon, whilst the other 4 are nylon coated in metal, so there will be differences in sound between them. It probably depends on the manufacturer, but with many classical/acoustic guitars this is the case
