Apple is a terrible company, why or why not?

Before we start I'd like to say I believe apple is an unethical, worthless, overpriced, piece of garbage company that should not exist. They steal other design choices, and practically are the most unoriginal company to ever be founded. I can't deny some android company's have mimicked their Iphone X's design, ( Which I hate) but it's not really galaxy so I won't say much. Really we can all agree that apple makes overpriced tech that rips off other ideas, and does nothing to revolutionize the market. They sit on a high chair and look down upon their slaves in china, and probably laugh as they die in the factory's whilst they bask in money; The phones they produce aren't even close to justifying this! The Iphone x's "No bezel design" Is a **** joke, seriously the bezel for the top part removes soooooooooooooooooooo much screen space. A longer phone just removes this issue, really was it that hard to fit in all the **** tech.

I think iOS is far smexier than any Android GUI I’ve seen. That’s the main reason I’d suck it up and buy an iPhone over a Samsung.

They’re pushing their premium persona a little hard for my taste, but let’s not pretend that Apple is the only phone company taking advantage of workers in China.

Likewise, it’s amazing to see just how many recent smartphones have a full screen display with a notch at the top.

I can genuinely taste the salt in your post IanJanes. Apple isn't as insidious of a company as your over-the-top reaction makes it out to be.

Personally, I'm not really a big fan of Apple's ''Create a problem, sell the solution'' model they seem to be putting in their devices now, like taking out the jack and then selling a special cable so you can charge your phone while listening to music.

Apple is fine imo. If you want an iPhone and don't mind paying more than for an Android, then go for it.

New iPhones are stupidly large. The iPhone X is just slightly smaller than most low end Android tablets. It's not comfortable to use, because it's too damn big for just one hand.

Some of their design decisions are retarded, like removing the headphone jack.

And, of course, I think their products are massively overpriced.

IMO yes Apple devices are overpriced, but they are some of the best devices they are, so are good for people that don't care about money and just want the best most modern devices they can get.

A bit of a side-point, this business model also means that the people that want the latest devices sell their phones again once a new iPhone comes out, so you can usually get second hand phones fairly cheaply, and Apple usually makes very well made and lasting products, so the second hand phones are fairly close to new (I've used a second hand iPhone 4s since shortly after the iPhone 5 was released, and it's worked great)

Um... Apple has probably come up with more revolutionary designs than almost any other company... Sure, they aren't doing as much recently as they did nearer the beginning, but they are still coming up with lots of great ideas.

I think apple does do some shady stuff in terms of paying taxes and planned obsolescence. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and utilizing these dirty methods is how you "win" in the business world. Steve jobs was kind of a jerk but so are most "geniuses".

You are right about not being revolutionary, apple has always been a marketing company first. They take a good device that is somewhat obscure and polish it up for the masses and make bank. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, the iphone generated competition that helped kickstart a lot of growth with smartphones.

I'm not a big fan of apple products personally as I really like customization settings that I feel are counter to apple's design philosophy.

Apple has better cameras and sleeker design, both in model and GUI.

Other than that, Samsung takes the cake.

Samsung takes too much effort to learn now that i’ve been using mostly iphones my entire life. So i’m quite satisfied with my iphone SE which has pretty much all the good parts of recent iphone developments combined into one.
Sure apple is evil, but which big corporation isn’t? I don’t think there’s any way to get rid of them soon.

I think it's safe to say many corporations are "terrible" (ethcially), but Apple to me is one of the first one that comes to mind.

Have a video. Not sure how accurate everything in it is but none of it would surprise me.

I don't like them but they suck less on average than some other companies. They suck too, but in some cases they can possibly be considered a lesser of two evils. There are 54 other options, but if you're artificially limiting yourself to two choices Apple won't always be the worst.

itunes as a computer program is terrible. it should have been easy. make a program so that music can be added or removed from a device. as a method of transferring a song from one device to another it is convoluted and unintuitive. the program does not fulfill a very basic function that it should be capable of doing simply.

I honestly agree with you on this point. My itunes has somehow become so messed up that it says all my songs are "corrupted" I try to uninstall it, it doesn’t work. I try to install it again, i can’t because it’s already "installed" into my computer. (¬_¬)
